1. I played a Marlin Sidewinder for three years, with no awareness of the concept of a setup, and no awareness that 8mm action was a bad thing. I happily gigged it and even recorded with it. I think that this may be why I've never regarded any subsequent bass to be 'unplayable' Not sure what this has to do with GP :-D
2. Crazy God of Hellfire rocker Arthur Brown, when he removes his face paint, is actually comedian Arthur Smith
3.
there are no pics of 215, what speakers are inside? Remember if you wanna sell it separatelly - write to me
There's one small pic of one of the 2x15 in post 14 OP states "the 2x15 cab was custom made for me by Hiwatt, with 2 600w fane speakers" :-)
4. Ich bin ein Moogenbumper
5. Did I hear my name mentioned? :-D Bump for a great chap to deal with. Whoever buys this will be very happy indeed. BTW Freddie, I'm still using the Crown as part of my main gigging rig.
6. Iggy has a brother who can't function without a drink.
7. Anyone remember that Channel 4 documentary followed John Lydon visiting Andrea Corr for the weekend? I think it was called Rotten to The Corr
8. Mark Morrison's big hit was written in celebration after finally finding the dry cleaning ticket for his coat.
9. I'm a fan, and have seen them several times. It's not my usual type of music, but it's just so angry, witty and grabs the attention.
10.
PM re co pilot orbit
Haha,I'm knew you'd jump on the Orbit
11. The successful pop collaboration between Gabrielle and East 17 for the song 'If You Ever' almost never happened. The romantic opening line, "The first time I saw your brown eyes' is the version we all know. However, as it was actually written about eyepatch-wearing Gabrielle, the original version said "The first time I saw your brown eye". Instant ban from the BBC and a slap in the face for Brian Harvey.
12. Would vinyl wrapping be good for this?
13. A local BCer was selling an EBS Multicomp for cheap, so I bought it to see what compressors did. No matter what setting I used, I couldn't hear any difference. I sold it on, and the buyer gave feedback about what a great compressor it is. So I'm none the wiser.
14.
Interesting conclusion. I'd be trying to work out why I didn't understand what she was saying.
More a hypothesis than a conclusion :-) I think that if many people are struggling to get on with her lessons, then it's fair to question her teaching style.
15.
What has gone?
He's only sold the G&L and gone all Spector on us* *I don't mean he's serving time for murder :-D
16. It's interesting seeing different people's interpretations of 'groove' - lots of funk, but for me 'groove' has a rockier slant: http://youtu.be/BMcVxWtELj0
17. Just spotted it's gone now! How does Mrs D react to the flow of bass traffic chez Discreet?
18. That is one very cool looking bass. Lucky buyer (provided it plays and sounds ok)
19. Supporting Dreadzone is a pretty good way to bow out though
20. I'm not sure that it's the same thing, but I had a SWR Basic Black and it started to make an odd noise. This was twelve years ago, but if IIRC the noise was like a kind of quiet, slow-decaying metallic echo/reverb with each note. The diagnosis was that a coil had gone on the driver, and a replacement driver sorted it out.
21. Bump for the Moog
22. Had Van Morrison not changed his delivery driver job two weeks before getting signed, he'd be known as Van Ocado
