1.
My Yamaha BB feels like to should cost £ 600
I'm hoping that's a good thing? Not so good if it's a BB2024x 😉
2. You'll need better pics, but if this is probably the best VFM you will ever come across http://basschat.co.uk/topic/259969-lakland-5501/page__gopid__2746714#entry2746714
3. Finding it a bit of a PITA to view pics, and can't find any of the front of the bass!
4. Bass: EQ flat and pickup blend on 50/50 (or solely bridge pup in humbucker mode for a couple of the less reggae songs) Amp: Avalon U5, tone section bypassed, but 'high cut' button in all the time. Crest power amp volume as required. BF super twin I've learned that cutting the frequencies you don't want sounds much better than boosting the frequencies you do. And headroom. Lots of headroom.
5. Great amp, great price, great seller. Basically, you cant go wrong here ☺
6. Playing 'The Weight' at a pub in Darwin only to have a gaggle of rowdy outback drunks cheer every time we sang "Take a load off Annie" - turns out they thought it was hilarious as it sounds like "fanny"
7.
Bubinga as they all are BUT the bottom edge is part of the heart-wood of the tree. The 2002 Ltd Ed Corvette was cut with that pale wood through the centre.
Bubinga heartwood is the reddish brown stuff, and it's the sapwood that is the pale part ☺ It's all part of the character, and bubinga sapwood is perfectly hard, unlike some sapwoods.
8. The One Spot costs around £20 and can handle up to 1700ma. I've never experienced unwanted noise from mine, but maybe that's to do with the type of pedals? Mine powers a tuner, bypass looper, LPF, Octave/fuzz, LFO and a compressor no problems at all
9. There was a thread on this subject recently and I think the OP ended up getting a normal class D integrated amp and bypassing the preamp. Not Stand Alone, but seemingly the easiest solution.
10.
Wh puts a bass away in its case without taking the strap off first?
Me. I don't think I've had the strap off my bass since I put it on three years ago. When going into the case, It has a certain way of being tucked in so that it doesn't get in the way.
11. Add it to the pinned Amp tech thread
12. This is supposed to be a sublime instrument. Depends who's playing it I suppose.. http://youtu.be/Y0Ts5fcBDAw
13.
but beef is beef, I find.
try telling that to Findus and Tesco
14. I so wish this had five strings :-( I got a price for a new NRbird 5er recently, and after import came in at £1600 this is a bargain!!
15. This Sei on the marketplace is black as black can be [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-04/received_10152564503395876_zpsuot8iidu.jpeg" class="ipsImage" />
16. Not foot tapping. I do tend to bob up and down like a demented chicken though
17. Glad to hear it. Look forward to seeing what you end up with
18. I had an amp arrive with a fault last week. I suggested to the seller that we split the cost, but he said that he had sold it as working so insisted on paying the full amount. I hope your seller is as noble!
19.
I couldn't see mine but there are two of my photos - the one of Yolanda Charles and the AC/DC wine...
Yours is there :-) I could name 51, well, I'm sure I'd duff up the spelling of many, but could articulate something resembling their name
20. That's lovely!
21. I am so happy with this rig; tonnes of clean headroom with clarity, depth and authority. [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/rackbags/64A06DB9-5554-45D3-8838-0773A9884DE8_zpsxeltgwhp.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
22. I have GAS for the first time in ages; a Cataldo NRbird 5 string. Trouble is after import duty it's about £400 over budget.
23.
Recommended tech in Nottingham - Dave Ball - very fast and reasonably priced. Good with valve amps but can repair pretty much anything. 0115 911 3964
Thanks to this thread, I used the services of Dave Ball to repair a solid state power amp. He has been doing it for decades so knows his stuff - valve, SS, d class, anything. Nice chap, good communication, quick turnaround and reasonably priced. Recommended.
