1. I use a TC RH750. That has a headphone output that mutes the speakers, so would do the job for you.
2. I bought a Mighty Mite Jazz neck from bluebass320. Absolutely spot on!! I fitted it to a Mex body with US pickups and it's a gem. Excellent value for money.
3.
C'mon, a wee bit more detail, length of time separated, how was contact made etc, etc. Great story.
I sold the bass in 1975, so we were apart for 41 years!! In the meantime, I moved away from the town, was divorced after a 22 year marriage and then met up with a lovely lady from my home town (trust me, it's all relevant lol). Her brother invited us out to see a local band, and the guy who had bought the Rick was at the gig - and also knew the brother! He came over to chat, was introduced to me and it all went from there! Of course, we had both changed so much in the intervening years that neither would have recognised the other. All in all, the happiest of coincidences - and he even sold it back to me for a great price!
4. Just checked the serial number - it's a 1973 not a '72.
5. Let me tell you a little story ..... Back in 1972, I used to play in a country and western band making a few quid so decided to invest in a shiny new Rickenbacker 4001. Unfortunately, a couple of years later I had to sell it to raise cash my first house. Then, out of the blue, the guy who bought it from me got a message to me asking if I wanted it back - I hadn't even spoken to him in the intervening period! So, after 10 minutes playing it was returned to the fold. I am just hoping the photo will post OK .....

I bought a Hipshot Xtender from Fatos - easy deal, good communication and very quick delivery. Top man. Greg
7. Just as a point of order, can it really be very unique? Surely unique is an absolute - it can't be qualified?
8. Where are you based? And are you interested in trades?
9. I have GAS for those bass-shaped things. All of them.
10. For me it must be a Selmer TnB 50 and Goliath cab. Sounded like someone kicking a cardboard box. On the plus side, they were dirt cheap back then. I really can't understand why they sell for big money nowadays.
11. Nick is indeed a top chap. You should be aware, however, that his collection is now somewhat depleted. If you look at the second pic, the blue Precision at the back is now in my collection
12. When I sell stuff, as soon as the sale and payment go through I mail the buyer to tell them when I will be posting/having it collected. I think that's only reasonable, and it's also what I expect when buying. I don't mind waiting a short time if the seller has told me from the start that's what will happen.
13. I sold a 60s violin bass for 15 quid, complete with its original case

15. Do you know which pickups they are? Fender does a range of P pickups and J pickups.
16.
It was mine....and Marcus42's and Dr of the Bass's....
If that's Marcus in Rugby, it could indeed be my old body - and before me it belonged to Jigster.
17. I thought long and hard before not bidding on this - it was a close thing. Have fun with it Jack
18. Soooo tempting. I always wanted one of these when they first came out, but being an impoverished apprentice I couldn't afford one.
19. That looks a lot like the body from my old Corvette - the neck of which is on my current gigging bass! If so, it dates back to 1997
20. Could it be the ferrule that fits the tuner? I had one that loose on my bitsa Jazz. A tiny ball of Blu-Tack fixed it
21. Whatever it is, it should have been strangled at birth.
22. Bought a Hipshot Xtender from Dave. He did a great deal, and it arrived within a couple of days. Great guy to deal with!
23. I am intending to stand my Big Baby 2 on top of another Big Baby 2 to get it up to a decent height
24. "She now looks as though she has been gigged and played and loved for a good number of decades." She looks to me as if she's had the crap kicked out of her rather than being loved!!!
