1.
I love BIG amps (look at my sig) But, it totally depends on the gig for me. I no longer have any roadies or a big gear van, so can't bring my new Mesa 8x10 around to many places (hence why I'm after a smaller cab to match the M-Pulse,so I'm covered for all occasions) but totally would if I could. On the flipside, my Ampeg Micro VR and 2 210 cabs fit in the boot of my old VW golf and covered everything bar outdoor/open-air gigs. I did use PA support on 2 occasions with it, but that was the sound-tech's idea-it defiantely did not need it. Some of the newer lightweight stuff does sound bloody huge too, like MarkBass Orancge Terror and GenzBenz etc But nothing says badass rock n'roll like a big rig (SVT and 8x10/Marshall Stack etc)
I agree! I do love the sound and the pure menacing look that a massive stack gives Still, can't wait to complete my ideal rig and have a full Markbass stack looming over me like a giant angry wasp of doom! Big in size, bigger in sound.... But nice and light!
2.
Does the BDI 21 need a preamp? The sansamps don't tend to.
Probably not, but I use the pre and power amp sections on my amp after my signal has been Sansamped, even though I don't use the Sansamp to actually boost the levels at all.. and overkill or not, i like the results
3. I used my rig last night, tiny tiny 500w head, 4x10 cab (which to be fair is quite big for a 4x10 ) If anybody can make an SVT with an 8x10 as loud as that I will hack my own head off with a slice of stale bread!
4. While doing the obligatory window shop, i found this rather nice specimen... currently at £255! Snap it up! 5. I have the Zoom B3, and while I don't think much to a lot of the gain based models, everything else is bloody awesome! Even a lot of the amp sims are as close as i'd ever want I mix it with a few 'real pedals' and run it through my amp, so that I have the exact setup that a fussy git like me needs
6.
Super low action here, and have a ramp too. No loss of tone.
I found that having lower action tends to cause less low end, but more mids... No problem with that here!
7.
PM'd (Sansamp)
And so it begins Alan!
8. Thought I'd break my virginity on this part of the forum with a video someone uploaded of last night's gig with my cover band Generations! This was the first song in our set, and I hit a cringeworthy wrong note in the first 20 seconds of the gig... Bugger However, by some miracle, you can actually hear the bass! I was running my Peavey International 4 string into my Aguilar TLC comp. Sansamp PBDDI, Marshall Jackhammer, and using the Zoom B3 just for the noise gate. Behind me is the Markbass F1 and STD104HF. Hope the sound is nasty enough Comment/criticisms welcome!
9.
CHEAPEST. MULTI-COMP. EVER.
Cheapest Sansamp PBDDI too!
10. I used to play a 34" scale bass half a step down, with a gauge .130 string, was fine for me nowadays I would prefer a 35" scale and/or heavier gauge... but it should be fine
11. Korg Pitchblack, and right angled jack thingies are officially gone, cheers! Bump for everything else
12. Gigging with my Zoom B3 on my pedalboard tonight... Sounded great in soundcheck! I'm keeping this for a LONG time!
13. I always worried mine was too low, but it's actually spmewhere between 5 and 8 mm at the 12th fret! Relief is about 0.5mm. It is hard to play accurately above the 15th fret...
14.
This time last year I would have been picking this bad boy up. I earn about 2/3rds less than I did last year, and it's probably true for a lot of others.
It's making me wish I had the money myself!
15. Thingies provisionally sold, and I didn't even have to find out what they were called!
16. That's a crazy price! Basschatters, y u no buy awesome rig?
17. Congrats mate, Ashdown amps are awesome and this one looks very sexual
18. I've come across bands having the amps facing sideways quite often, works really well actually but then you don't get to show off your prized gear collection Generally I prefer not going through the PA though because in anything smaller than say, the London Astoria, you simply don't need it
19. I really like the passive BB series basses, really powerful PJ basses and they look the business! RBX775s are great and aggressive sounding if you can find one, though I personally didn't get on with it. Also, you can never go wrong with a nice TRB, I think everyone here will agree with that!
20. H
...plethora?
Oi There's just two of em. Just in case the above photo doesn't show them too well... They're little male/female thingies that I fixed to the first and last pedal in my chain so that I could put them right at the edge of my pedalboard and still use a straight jack, whilst being able to pull it out easily when I'm finished playing. Anyways they'll be visible attached the Korg Pitchblack, and Belcat Delay in the below pic
21. Korg Pitchblack provisionally sold but everything else very much for sale type bump!
22. Apologies in advance, this is a 20 minute plus prog metal masterpiece But there are two short but sweet bass solo sections in it! One nice melodic one at 08:30, and lots of cool bits from 12:35 onwards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3pJa0flBo0
23.
Remember:bag it, before you HTML tag it. Surf safe, people.
This is destined to become a meme. We saw it first!
24. These are all great pedals, I'm just moving them on to make room on my pedalboard for the Zoom B3! All pedals have original box except Big Muff... Some have a bit of glue residue on the bottom from when they were on my pedalboard, and the Small Stone still has the velcro on the bottom because it's INSANELY strong tape.I have stuck the rubber feet back on all of them but it will be just as easy to take them off again. Other than that, top condition! I have also posted these for sale on Facebook... But for you guys and gals on BassChat, all prices include UK postage! [s]Korg Pitchblack Tuner - £45 SOLD[/s] [s]EHX Small Stone Nano phaser - £40 SOLD[/s] [s]EHX Neo Clone chorus - £40 SOLD[/s] [s]EHX Bass Big Muff - £45 SOLD[/s] [s]Belcat DLY-503 Analog Delay - £20 SOLD[/s] [s]Daisy chain cable for pedalboard power supplies (5 outputs, right angled) - £5 SOLD[/s] [s]Piranha patch cable - £5 SOLD[/s] [s]Right angle jack thingies - £1 each SOLD[/s] Will trade for a Zoom FP02 expression pedal + cash, or a passive Peavey bass for defretting Thanks for looking!
