1. Is it really the same size as the Empress? It seems narrower in photos. Anyone got both for a photo comparison?
2. If you have a router then anything can fit.
3. I loved Mr Big, but there's something about the Dogs that leaves me a bit, meh.
4. I really like Seymour Quarter Pounders. Still a great single cool sound but big and chunky with it.
5. Get a Digitech iStomp and use the model of it. It's very good, and far quieter than the real pedal.
6. I like them, but I like the Tecamp Puma better. No fan, even lighter and a great eq, especially with the "taste" control.
7.
I have never understood the idea of a musician who doesn't perform. Doesn't seem much point in bothering with all of the work necessary to be a player if you are not going to play live. Recording is great but it is a bit artificial in terms of securing a flawless performance. Also, I like the social aspects of live work and of interacting with other human beings, be they other musicians or the audience.
It can be an academic subject pursued for the sake of personal growth and enjoyment. Just like any other subject. Intellectual curiosity about a subject is quite common!
8.
I have the new (ish) Shure GLXD-16 system which has never interfered with anything else, is in a rugged metal case and has a rechargeable lithium ion battery with 16 hours of playing time and can be recharged from a plug or USB. I love it.
I am very tempted by that one, I have to say. Built in tuner as well, and rechargeable. I've narrowed my choice down to between that and the new Line 6 Relay G70. Mmmm...
9. Forgot to put this on in this thread. Passive TT4, ebony board, matching headstock and block inlays.
10. I love playing with other people. Doesn't necessarily have to be with an audience. Due to work commitments and other things I currently play with a local music trust orchestra. We rehearse every week and perform 3 times per year. I love it - and it is really improving my reading skills. But the carrying of kit, the organisation, the bookings etc - that bit I hate. Fortunately I don't do any of the admin at the moment, I just turn up and play with a great bunch of people. Even when we split into small ensembles it's fantastic.
11. Multi band compressor and EQ would sort it.
12. Take spares for everything Tape down cables so you don't trip Write your set list in black on white paper. Don't add notes in red - that will disappear under stage lights Rehearse as if you were on stage. Same space & shape.
13. Gigrig
14. Down to 8 basses now. And a baritone, and 2 electric guitars and 1 classical.
15.
Or an RH450/750 head - again, no tuner needed.
Too heavy 8.8lb against the 2.2 lb Puma I have.

17. Line 6 Sonic Port Plugs into your iOS device. I comes with the Mobile POD software but is also compatible with Amplitude (Free) - and then you can get an excellent Ampeg B15 sound. Amplitude will grab tunes from your iTunes library so you can play along I use mine all the time - great bit of kit
18. Jimmy bought my Fishman Platinum Pro-EQ bass preamp. Great comms, paid fast and let me know it arrived ok. All good!
19. Lots to investigate!
20.
80 lb (36.2 Kg) apparently, according to the OP on TB.
That's impressive. I used to run a pair of Marshall VBC412 cabs - they were 110 lb each. Never again!
21. Quarter Pounders for me. Nice and chunky.
22. I was thinking of a tuner, compressor, envelope filter and drive - all on a Pedal Train Nano. Are there any Multi FX that are smaller?
23. I think I'm going to put together a mini board to try and get the whole thing as light as possible. Obviously I'll need to buy some small pedals. Oh well!
24. Take off 1 tuner (including the bushing) and weigh it. Then you can compare with the Hipshot weights. Ibby tuners are quite light anyway, they may not be light enough to make a difference you want to pay for. On a trad bass with big plate tuners swapping to Ultralites can save half a pound on a 5 string!
25. Got any pics?
