  1. Gary Willis used to use little plastic spacers behind the bridge of his basses to move the ball end further away, so it has been done before. I've been meaning to try it as I can't get a D'addario medium scale B string. You can always order custom strings from Newtone and have them made exactly for your instrument. Very nice they are too.
  2. Email and ask them. They can do a lot. just be aware that if it can’t be done with a neck shape they already make and you really really want it… you’ll be paying for new moulds and tooling too…
  3. derrière. it’s been discontinued.
  4. Source Audio Spectrum filter. And a big surprise, the Boss BC-1X compressor. Ive sold my expensive ones and kept the Boss. The X stuff really is excellent.
  5. My 4 string is tuned to C. I fitted EMG PJ-X set with an EMG stack 2 band, and the ABCX active Balance control and I’m really impressed with the sound. Also, Roto B strings suck like gravity. D’addario B are much better. Can get tapered ones too if that helps the intonation.
  6. @adamg67 What power supply have you got there?

    Weight

7.5lb limit for me. Too many injuries and operations.
  8. That Times headline is misleading too. In other places it's been reported that The Offspring guy has declined on advice from his doctors due to other health issues. He doesn't seem to be anti-vaxx at all, just that he has a genuine medical issue that at the moment seems incompatible with the vaccine.
  9. I know that pain. I think I'm going to sell my DG head and quite possibly my Urge 2.
  10. I had a pair of HD112 and swapped them for CN112 many years ago. The HD112 had a more trad sound. Warmer, slightly scooped compared to the CN112. The CN were more mid pushed. I really preferred the sound of the HD but the weight saving was considerable. I wouldn't have either again. HD was too heavy, CN didn't sound how I wanted them to. I've not tried any other Berg cabs. All really well built though.
  11. Decision made. I'm going to see what I can sell to raise the funds for the 5 string version.
  12. Ray for the fingers Jazz for the slap.
  13. I wash my hands before I play (proper old soap that leaves my skin feeling a bit dry) but never wipe down the strings.
  14. He’s a fabulous player. I still love his Metropolitain album.
  15. I’ve found a nice blue tort….
  16. A really dark tort might be ok. Just.
  17. The annoying thing is that I’m a bit bored with the harshness of my black plate on my white / rosewood P and I want a change and I don’t want white…
  18. He was green screened in. As was QJ.
  19. It’s DIrty Loops but with a good editor and a chance of chart success. I like Dirty Loops, but anything that removes the smugness is great.
  20. Singer is a bit too MJ for me, but the band is banging.

    Preamp

Helix. Might as well get all the options at once.
  22. It's not an interview, just a short intro and then it's all Lee Sklar. That's a great sounding bass. Anyone made a tribute of it?
  23. Sort of. 68hz is a lower frequency than 1Khz etc. But it's not that simple as an EQ control can have a very narrow band so a 68hz control might only change 65-70hz leading to a very pointy looking curve, or it might be a far wider band that is 30hz to 100hz and the curve would look like a gentle hill.
  24. What an amazing colour!
  25. I suspect 99% of these sort of events don't have licences at all. And the PRS is probably not that bothered about hunting down offenders for a cover of some 1970s tune enjoyed by the people at the cake stall and a few dog walkers!
