Current copperburst ones are made in China, and from my experience vary a bit in the playability stakes. One sold recently on here for £110 - bargain or what! Average new price would be around £240. I've had previous models made in Korea - a blueburst and also a metallic blackburst, both excellent instruments if you readily accept their erm..design limitations. Great thumping basses - only one great useable sound but its a belter! The Korean models (late 90's era) are getting a bit harder to find now, and are slightly better built/specced than the current ones, although perhaps not as vintage accurate. I love them - great for roots rock n roll / country / blues etc. Happy to give you more Dano info/pics, PM me if you want 'em. Cheers Pete.

I use Jim Dunlop Straploks, the plastic ones that cost around a couple of quid a pair. Unlike the metal Strap Lock system these does mean you don't have to alter your guitar or strap. Never had a bass come off using these yet. (Also +1 for the Grolsch washers ! )

Due to needing another bass, (and now a strict 'one in one out' policy) may be persuaded to part with mine! Dark blue / maple combo, as good as new (as a £60 bass can be etc!).Plays fine, strings surprisingly ok too. PM me if interested, cheers.

Just got a couple of sets of 45-105's , very impressed for the money. (£7.95 from Strings Direct). Ideal for a project / 2nd bass (dare I say Sue Ryder?!!) As good/same as Rotosound Roto bass I reckon. Thanks for the heads up.

Mine asks to specify anything of value over £500 - just had to give details of stuff, but have got pics & serial numbers noted just in case really. Mate of mine had a beautiful Precision (early style) made by him - 2 tone SB,maple neck etc. Great bass and craftsmanship, not sure where it is now though. I went to Paulman's workshop in Huddersfield many years ago to collect a guitar he'd been refinishing - again top quality work.

Took mine to my weekly pub residency last night with the intention of trying it out live for a couple of songs. Ended up playing it all night! Look, its not a custom shop alternative, or even a better bass than a bog standard Precision. What it is though is a great value for money instrument at a great price - ideal as a noodler, back up or starter bass etc. Mine is fairly light/well balanced,plays in tune, sounds Precision-y, looks okay and will be easy to upgrade should I want to in the future. Also the charity will (hopefully) get some benefit from clearing these instruments too. Thats it, so really what's not to like?

Just to let anyone in the York / E.Yorkshire area know - the Pocklington branch of Sue Ryder has 3 blue models currently in stock. (tel.01759 304852). Last ones to arrive maybe? Cheers.
