I have an old Squier bitsa which I use for the .... er..... lower quality establishments. It doesnt matter too much if it gets knocked over or covered in beer. I have kitted it out with spb 1 pups so it can hold its own with our enthusiastic drummer and guitarist.

I always hankered after a Stingray and bought one off here. But the sound was not really suitable for the stuff I was playing. So I sold it and bought the P bass in my sig.

Wunjo's in Denmark St will only do setups etc, on guitars that they have actually sold to you. I was quite surprised by that! However, they did recommend luthiers in the area who would, so kudos the them for that. The grumpy place in Camden do, but they sent me on a wild goose chase to collect my bass that wasnt even ready!

My Fender/SKB case offers outstanding protection under normal use. I dont envisige myself taking a chainsaw to it, or chucking it off tower bridge, so its a great case AFAIC

My P Bass always goes back in the case during breaks.

I do a similar thing by rubbing my nose. It does actually work for easier slides
