1.
The drummer in Squeeze is Simon Hanson. Originally from Lincolnshire, he and I played in a band together in 1979? called Delusion. He was 16 and I was 18. Since then he has gone on to make his living from session work etc. I on the the other hand haven't!! Paddy.
Crikey! Theres a claim to fame, Thanks mate.
2.
Yes D Baker was on Friday, a bit pissed. I like the comedy and the theme, best tune Squeeze have done for ages (though they haven't formally released an album under that name for ages anyway )
Their original drummer Gibson Lavis? Is now Jools own drummer. The new drummer is good though, although I must think it must have been quite a frosty show.
3.
I think it's a slab body but I'm not one hundred percent on it! It's a looker for sure though, now how do I embed images?
Sorted.
4. Is that a slab body or is it an optical illusion??
5. He ripped that solo off of me! Thats exactly the same solo I got when I chucked my bass down the stairs!
6.
In both cases, you are working for someone else .... 7. It definitely needs a clean though. And that neck is not original either.
8. Amazing what you can do with only two chords innit??
9. Have you ever heard the version from the Concert For Bangladesh? - Klaus Voormann does a great job with it although he simplified the A minor twiddley bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei6VyjlgxZU
10. Medium high action using the slightly heavier Ernie ball Regular Slinky's (50-105). My style of playing varies between playing with a pick and fingerstyle depending on the song, But I am heavy handed and a too low action doesnt work for me.
11. In the pub, about seven thirty Mother makes sure that his face ain't dirty Him and mother go everywhere Holds her hand without a care.
12. There hasnt been decent Bond theme since Maccas Live and Let Die.

15. In all honesty, I grew up in the 70,s where a lot of Fenders were about. In all the bands I loved, they all played a Precision (Apart from Bruce Foxton who did eventually succumb). All very different genres too. Like Horace Panter from The Specials, Bedders from Madness, Bruce Thomas and that bloke from The Pretenders all sporting P basses. I guess its just rubbed off on me. Yes, I,m a Fender fanboy but I have no intention of shoving it down peoples' throats.
16. Matey boy here has nailed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4eeX4lvLk8
17.
I love my US Standard but I really don`t see £700 worth of difference between the two - a couple of hundred at best. MIMs have certainly raised their game over the last few years.
Indeed. I was never a fan of MIM Fenders, But now the Nate Mendel I bought recently is now my main go to bass.
18. I have 3 Precisions and an Epi Thunderbird. I mainly play the P basses and have absolutely no interest in high price boutique basses or fancy shaped pointy things. What I play, I can do on a Fender and thats it.
19. Well done! Congrats on buying your first proper bass. Now you can take the tag off.
20. I think a better idea would be to release the Let it Be movie on DVD/Blu-ray. That be worth it for the rooftop concert alone.
21. In an attempt to squeeze more cash out of their fans, The Beatles have a new release featuring er.., the same old stuff again! http://wogew.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/beatles-1-mystery-solved.html
22.
To quote Not The Nine OClock News... "...you only buy my latest hits, because you like my latex t*ts..."
Oh yes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMXIro1P_7g
23. And also bare in mind, the sound of these shows were mixed to suit the sound of your average 1970's Ferguson mono telly speaker. They didnt know that in the future we would be watching these shows on our state of the art - hi def - nicam -surround sound tellys.
