1. Guitar Improver - Self styled tinkering microlight pilot with too much time on his hands.
2.
Are these effects boxes simple to use ? I look at some of em and I wouldn't have a clue what buttons to press
I,m the same as you, A complete technophobe. That is why I suggested the vox amplug, just plug in and play. However, as others have said, Its not rocket science to read the instructions on the zoom. There are also youtube vids
3. Met Brian Bethell bassist of Nine Below Zero while watching a band at the old Red Lion in Brentford many years back. Thoroughly nice bloke. Gave us a lift to the station in his little Renault.
4. You could even get a vox amplug if your just noodling at home. You can play along to your music or the built in drum machine.
5. The Beatles' Sgt Pepper and Setting Sons by The Jam started off as concept albums which after recording several songs, the concept idea was dropped.
6. Name and shame so we can give this place the wide berth it deserves.
7. I,ve got a few days off with a torn ligament in my left wrist. Its quite a challenge trying to change the scratchplate on my P bass with one hand.
8.
I always get muddled up with Gilbert and Leo Sayer...may have been 'cos of the haircuts...which one did Get Down? Great song smith.
Gilbert. About a dog allegedly
9. Sounds like the nut may be cut too low. Take it back and get him to check it.
10. Just bung it all in a rucksack. I wrap my cables up neatly with elastic bands as I,m paranoid about damaging the core.
11. I bought my Nate Mendel from Wunjos. They gave me 2 years free setups to.
12. Is this actually live? There seems to be a bass fluff about 2.58. I know they kept Trevors' fluff in the single version but to replicate it live? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEmGQYCuc6M
13. Andy from Chandlers in Kew is my go to tech. However, Although its in Surrey, It's technically still in London.
14. I use this setup. A great combination, feather light and more than enough power!
15. In my case it depends if I like the song or not. Our lot wanted to do Enter Sandman which I'm not keen on. Took me nearly a week that one. Where as we wanted to cover The Jean Genie, only a couple of hours.
16. Some people even go and buy new strings just because the new zingyness has faded.
17.
Tempting - and local! What's the scale length of these?
I believe its a 34" mahogany neck on these.
18. I,ll have you know I have an M C Hammer LP Geriatric indeed!!
19. I dont suppose anybody has PM'd him with the bad news then??
20. Poor Ringo only has a little one.
21.
I`d say wait until the replacement joins before making any decisions. Who knows, they may be even better and it may give you a new enthusiasm for the band as a whole.
Agreed. There are loads of drummers out there which you havent played with yet, who may blow your socks off! However, if your band is in its final throws anyway, then you know what do do.
22. For Professional use eh? Wasted on me then.
23. Man, that cheesey '60's organ sound.
24. I wanted to sound like Bruce Foxton and JJ Burnell when I started playing. I still use a pick for about 30% of my bands set today.
