1. I have a Fender soft case for my JC, fits a treat I'm pretty sure it's this one http://www.gear4musi...-Guitar-Bag/XLT
2.
....but it's for reasons like that that us bassists are tarred as the dumb ones in bands.
Ahhhh, if only it were so.....
3.
I'd love to find a band/musicians that would rehearse till the music is really propertly rehearsed and tight and then look for gigs.
Aaaah, but that takes patience....

SOLD

Great little preamp pedal, the M81. Lovely EQ, DI out, ooodles of headroom. This one's in great nick, the odd mark here and there but nothing to write home about. Includes box and paperwork. [s]£95[/s] £85 posted, UK only. Bank transfer very much preferred. The picture is sideways (odd).....I can assure you the pedal itself is the right way up
5. He certainly wears many musical hats. But oddly only one actual hat - you'd think he'd have a 'cello hat' and a 'bass hat' and so on. Bit like Worzel Gummidge.
6. Plectrum or fingers, all the Epi Thunderbirds I've played have had similar ergonomics. I really think it's something you can get on with or you can't.
7. Oooooh, exciting.....don't tease. Tell us more !
8. I had a Thunderbird Pro for a while before the neck dive singled it out for sale. Lovely tone, really sang out...just couldn't get on with the ergonomics
9. I think I've only ever quit two bands (others have folded by roughly mutual consent, people moved away, that kind of thing). One (let's say Band A) I left as the guitarist turned out to be a thoroughly unpleasant person and the other (Band B ) I Ieft as I was in two bands at the time and couldn't keep up the commitment I though was needed. Sadly the two bands were Band A and Band B so I quit Band B to spend more time on Band A. Not the best chain of choices I've made - the experience of Band A put me off doing music for almost a year. Band A have a level of success now. So it goes.
10.
Interesting, you'd think that would be number 1 on everyone's list. It didn't even make it anywhere on my list. Blue
I wouldn't have expected it to be first on your list.
11.
That I like the music. IMO pretty much everything else can be fixed later once I'm in the band, but if I don't like the music then it's definitely not for me.
Yep, sums it up for me as well. Everything flows from liking the music.
12. Great power amps - I have one in my 'big rig' and it's solid as a rock. GLWTS
13. I'm not interesting in 'foaming your arse', no matter what kind of specialist products you have.
14. I know of a few aged hipsters, if that's any help
15.
I hesitated to spend out the dosh on Servisol the first time but have to say, it was money well spent.
Same here - Servisol is the one for me. Maybe it's worth contacting them if you, like me, find the lack of tubes vexing. The company's called CRC [email protected] Maybe we could raise it as an election issue...."Britain's not going down the tubes"
16.
Not really a lot of good without the tube.
Very much so - something I shall be telling them, after I've got my free tubes.
17. Thanks for the suggestions folks (although I'd rather use switch cleaner to clean switches rather than WD40). I emailed the folks at Servisol and they're going to send me some spare tubes as they don't supply the spray tubes any more. Silly, really - I use the tubes almost every time I use the stuff...which is why they get lost I suppose
18. Must be one of the funniest adverts on Basschat. GLWTS "...even an impression of a Rickenbacker as good as a drunk you does of an irishman. Not quite there, but you're drunk and having fun with it."
19.
Find a shop that sells WD40.. sometimes you may find loose tubes which need disposing of.
Naughty !
20. Anyone know where you can buy (or know the dimensions of) the drinking straw-like tubes that come with cans of Servisol switch cleaner ? The last couple of cans I've got haven't come with them and they're highly lose-able anyhow.
21. My wife's away for the weekend so I've had two blondes and two brunettes in the front room for some 'overdrive evaluation'
22.
Everyone should do what they feel comfortable doing. If you feel it's "more professional", or you are prone to gear failures, or it just gives you a warm feeling, you're a very careful person or just have OCD then carry as many backups as you like. IMO it's not "more" professional to take backups but if you have failures, don't treat your gear well or buy unreliable gear and don't take backups then you are definitely being "less" professional than you should be.
Well said. I don't take back-up equipment to gigs but I certainly would describe it as 'futile' or dismiss anyone who does.
