  1. 'Great music' to me is simply music I like a lot - I'd attempt no more definition than that.
  2. Labellinq anything requires compromise, so it really is best not to get hung up on them. They're descriptions of similarity, not definitions.
  3. Try it, it's no great shakes to get a 250k pot and switch later if you don't like it. Experiment !
  4. I know this song I had to use it all the time, was quite good with it, but it always felt like it was a badly-designed tool. Hope you get on with the set list software - if it works for you, then job done.
  5. For idiots, yes...sadly Musicians ∩ Idiots ≠ ∅
  6. It's usually peak time only - they want to avoid buying energy when it's most in demand, so they reward customers who don't, for example, join the tea-time power spike.
  7. This kind of scheme usually asks that you don't run anything high power things like tumble-dryers, heaters or experimental fusion reactors.
  8. See, this is the attitude we like to see ! Head to toe...pure player
  9. Wow. If I did that for a month that'd be the best paying gig I never played !
  10. "What's the best way to troll a bass forum ?" "Here, pass me that Wal and fire up Photoshop"
  11. I had the pleasure of playing through a Marshall VBA stack a few times at a rehearsal studio. Amazing amps. I simply didn't know my bass could sound that flippin' good.
  12. I didn't last long - it soon became apparent that my giant overbite and the mouthpiece of the horn weren't a match made in heaven
  13. Can I any a big thank you - I did a similar test at primary school (I ended up with a tenor horn), and have often wondered what it was, details are sketchy after this long. Anyhow...The Bentley Test. Good chance this is what I took, after a bit of research. Thanks !
  14. I love it....it's like opening the Haynes Manual for the Universe and finding it was written by Lewis Carrol
  15. First of all, how disappointing, not at all what you wanted to happen ! Hope it's an easy fix 👍
  16. If you kept the strap inside the case, you'd not need to put the Cambridgeshire badge on that strap, so you'd have a spare badge. So...you'd need to buy another bass from Cambridgeshire. 👍 No charge, I like to do some work pro bono...just to give something back.
  17. That's great news - glad you've got some on the way 👍 Do report back and let us know how they sound...
  18. Lovely phrase ! I had to check, but I think in English it would be something like 'That's heart of the matter' (Other linguists are available)...or more colloquially 'The thing is...' Thanks, every day is a school day, and that's just fine by me !
  19. Risky. Now you're only one forgetful moment away from total baseless panic.
  20. Now, that is good for metal
  21. I won the Internet once. It's made out of cheap plastic and that funny foil stuff that tinsel is made from. The dial fell off too. Jeesh, wish I'd gone for the speedboat.
  22. Dawn Lightnings. They're quite mellow for Jazz pickups, so if you wanted more bite I'd maybe go for another model, but they're really rather nice. Defined but more Caramel than Crunchie.
