The Boss PSA 230S produces 500mA @9v, so it [i]should[/i] be OK, assuming the plug matches the socket and the unit's happy being fed by a switched-mode power supply

I've been tempted by a j-retro, but not being able to solo the front pickup in passive mode has put me off. I guess you could switch the front and rear pickup connectors over but I'd presume that would make nonsense of the controls

Apart from one chap in the Gateshead branch towards the end of the 90s, I've never found the staff in Maplins much use, irrespective of where they hailed from. But it's a high street store and maybe Maplins don't ask much of their staff.

A friend of mine who is a big fender fan raves about the J Mascis sig, but as to whether it nails the Costello sound I don't know.

My solution is to cut an inch or so off some twin and earth mains cable, remove the conductors and use the outer sleeve as a 'boot' to slip over the unused connector.

Maybe it's the name of a prior owner ?
