The final pedal that i have made is my "Iron Man" pedal, kind of got on a bit of a theme after the hulk pedal! This is one of the simpler ones that i have made and is a Civil war big muff with a couple of mods, one to make it more bass friendly and another to remove the mid scoop from it. This is a dark sounding fuzz and I'm still learning what sounds i can get out of it but so far it is pretty good if not a bit bass heavy!! These are all the pedals I've made so far, promised the girlfriend i won't make anymore for the time being! although I'm tempted by possibly a modified rat..
Excellent graphics....good work
 2.
Where's the dirt? Sounds poppy
I know what you mean - it's nowhere near sweaty enough
 3.
They apparently kicked out the previous bassist as well - maybe they have specific ideas that no-one, aside from the original bassist, meets.
They're a bunch of chrotchey old men.
 4. I'd say new strings and get it set up the way you like it.
 5. I think it's good to see that everyone still has things to learn
 6. These are gobsmackingly good basses ! GLWTS
 7.
Weight please ? Super interested.
Using the tried and tested (me on the bathroom scales + bass) - (me on the bathroom scales) = ~9lbs
 8.
Pmd
Replied
 9. Up for sale is my black Status T-bass, a lovely instrument which I'm going to miss, but I need to clear some debts...so away it goes. In good condition - the only real flaw is a crack in the scratchplate which runs from the lower pickup mounting screw on the neck pickup to by the neck - it's difficult to spot as it's a very tight crack (quiet at the back ! and is almost impossible to see. I replaced one of the volume controls with a Status pot a couple of years ago, and there's a barely perceptible crackle as the treble control is turned - I'll have a go at this over the next few days with some servisol which should sort it out. The 'block inlays' are just transfers which would take less than a minute to remove. Other than that an top-notch 'super-jazz' with a clear and precise tone. For starters this is pick-up/meet-up only as I'm all out of spare hard cases. I live in North London, but would be happy to travel to meet up to hand it over - PM me if you're interested. £375
 10. If it's just a volume boost you're after would something like an MXR micro amp be a option ? A lot cheaper than a Tone Hammer !
 11. 10/10 but I guessed Interpol and Coldplay
 12.
I'd also question how exactly it was 'serviced' and nobody noticed the fault.
Indeed. I think my next port of call will be the Bass Gallery for a 'real' service.
 13. It's cutting out again.
 14. Indeed, get well soon Bassdoc
 15. Oooooh, now that looks interesting !
 16.
What's your budget? http://www.juleamps....ss/monique.html very tasty
How much ? /whistles/ The DHA one looks more affordable !
 17.
10K 2 watt should do for discharging smoothing caps. Worth looking over the whole board on ampeg, they went through a period of seeing what was the least amount of solder they could use. Especially check the joints that are under stress mechanically such as the the pots, jacks and switches on the front panel. Zap anything that looks remotely poor. Well done on the fix. £300 for a pre amp transformer is ludicrous. Even an SVT transformer for Tube Amp Doctor is only about £220. Someone's taking the p#ss.
I've been over the power board and reflowed all the solder joints once already It was a tidy job to start with, but I wanted to remove it from the equation. I'll give the preamp board it a going over next time I've got it open - I've checked it with a mangnifier, but maybe some reflows might be order there too. Good advice, thanks. I'm still waiting for another quote for rewinding the transformer, I hope it's cheaper too - I just wish there was space in the case to move it off the power board. It should have been chassis-mounted in the first place, not held on to the board by solder and ziplock tags !
 18.
cubase has a phase invert button on the track fader
It's near the top of the track control IIRC
 19. I've just managed to give my Ampeg SVP-Pro a new lease of life after some transformer problems, and I've started pondering about a replacement. And it struck me that there aren't many companies producting them any more - Ampeg and Aguilar spring to mind. Anyone know of any others ? Rack gear must be due a revival !
 20. Seems to me an excuse to visit the 'Effects for Sale' forum for a chorus and a bass wah !
 21.
+1 It's unpleasant. I now habitually use a couple of big wirewound resistors wrapped in shrinksleeve with flyleads coming out to discharge smoothing caps.
Just what I was thinking of building ! What value resistors did you use ?
 22.
Fixed! Congrats, and well done! (except maybe the Virgil Ovid Hawkins part)
Had to check that, but
 23.
Brilliant..! Would get full marks except for the electrocution. That's just a warning shot; some folks have been killed or seriously injured from working in valve amps without adequate precautions. You were lucky, there. Enjoy your newly repaired amp..!
Thank you, and an entirely fair point about the shock - I may joke, but I'm disappointed with myself about getting it - I know I know better !
 24.
Ever tried helping him get the drums set up?
Plus the one. I've always helped the dummer in bands I've been in to set up, mainly cos I'm usually first to finish setting up and it's a mare of a job rigging the drum kit. Just getting stands out and opening them up is a help, even if the drummer wants to position them...help tidy away cases as they're finished with...that sort of thing.
 25. I've been using a Maplins variable temp one like this for years: YMMV, but I'd not exchange it for a more expensive one - never had any problems with it. Changed the tip once as it got dinked when a hammer fell on it.
