  1. Have to say, grabbing an ES-5 has been wonderful. Something quite glorious about not having to worry about where a pedal goes on your pedalboard, or playing the endless cable roundabout testing various orders.

So, Parcelforce steal parcels? Where in conditions of service do Parcelforce tell you that they will claim property when the label falls off, without making EVERY effort to identify who it may belong to, which they would have very quickly identified upon opening? Absolutely shocking stuff.

Where did the money from the auction sale go to? Charity, Peacocks back pocket, parcelforce's back pocket or somewhere else? This is bizarre.
  4. Ah I just commented on this on YT! But yeah to repeat, wenge's depth, smoothness and richness in the low end and low mids wins out, amazing to hear the differences. Blind test, I'd have thought the Ovangkol was a bolt on! (I know you have another vid showcasing that difference too!)
  5. Have Spector yet commented formally on the problem? Sounds like a recall job if the pickups are not fit for purpose for lower tuning, if that is what this is, especially given the marketing relating to the 37" B, although its odd its never come up for other basses using these pickups.
  6. You may be better off just grabbing a phaser that has a volume control or doesn't have the same level of drop? I don't particularly remember the Phase 90 being too unique amongst phasers. Although I'd double check meter readings etc to measure the apparent drop, as ears can be deceiving due to their nature.
  7. Blimey, that's ridiculously cheap if you are including the transmitter! Usually go for £100 more! GLWTS, if its still here
  8. Yeah, really hope he waived any fee when he just gave the broken bass back?! Glad it's getting somewhere now, but fill in the massive blank for me; what on earth caused three preamps to break?? I have been using preamps in basses for 15 years and have never had one fail.
  9. Ha, convinced them to get rid of the J in the end then!
  10. Another little update. Sold my Alpha Omega pedal last year when 90% of the board went in anticipation of a Quad Cortex purchase, but when life stopped that from happening, i've been able to slowly rebuild. Don't need the ultra version anymore, this does just fine!
  11. Wonderful, you won't find that craftsmanship from any other bass in that price range. GLWTS!
  12. This is a vintage original Microtubes B3K, made in Finland circa 2010. #285th ever built, and this one was actually built by Doug Castro himself, as signed on the circuit board! This is the original blackfaced B3K, back when they were built in small quantities before production moved to the US. Pedal is in great working and cosmetic condition for its age, just a little letter wear here and there as the pics show and some dual lock on the bottom, sounds fantastic, just something about these old once. Marvelous units! I'd love to hang on to this for sentimental reasons, and I bet it's value as a classic pedal will only rise, but it's not really getting used and has now been kicked off the board by a AO, which suits what I need more. Includes 48 courier. Cheers!

  13. Good choice on the date ranges you're going for, maybe go a little further and go 2013 onwards so you get the wonderful wenge necks.
  14. I would assume that's a little style over substance, as I imagine Musicman would want to avoid 6 knobs or stacked knobs. I think two bands are more than enough for an onboard EQ personally.
  15. I mean yeah, a game changer it is not. Matt Bellamy and Mansons were putting Zvex effects in guitars what must be 10-15 years ago, and its hardly took off. But still, I can definitely see the appeal to players who really don't want to deal with pedalboards but need distortion. For those with pedalboard setups, i'm not sure what it brings to the table over having one of the pedals.
  16. Why is anything? Just think it's a great name.
  17. Can't get enough of small bodied basses, absolutely love it!
  18. To be honest, the more I think about it the more I want one! 😂 I'm surprised it isn't a massive upcharge on the standard price, or at least doesn't seem to be. Maybe it is the dealers that make all the money off them after all.
  19. Looks like they haven't ran out of the 100 on the Musicman website yet... Wonder what the battery life will be like, powering that circuit and the LED ring?
  20. Interesting partnership, would have been much more obvious if Darkglass has teamed up with Dingwall or Warwick for this. Swear I heard some kind of modulation effect in the little teaser they put out last week, so kinda disappointed it just seems to be a stripped down Alpha Omega pedal built in to a regular black hardware Stingray. Still, its cool, and doesn't seem to be any more expensive than the already crazy new Musicman prices. So the 100 is just for the grey one? I was going to criticise why they felt the need to artifically build demand by restricting it so much, but if the black is just in regular production, I think it's a cool addition to the lineup. And it's called a Dark Ray, which is awesome.
  21. Cheeky little update: OC-5 bumped for the Phaser. Decided to move the OC-5 on as it just wasn’t going to get used, the conclusion I always reach when buying a straight up octave pedal. Originally planned to grab a Source Audio C4 to replace the octaver, but the cost to get midi set up with the ES-5 was just too much, and changing presets by switch wasn’t an option for me. So I went with a crazy phaser instead and love it!
  22. Sold @Jonathan Bee a Boss pedal, very patiently waited after I had to deal with a couple of tyre kickers and then paid immediately, enjoy mate!

    Feedback for Higgie

Purchased a rather lovely phaser off @Higgie, no issues whatsoever, cheers bud!
  24. Unless my eyes are playing tricks, this used to be mine Amazing bass, still haven't heard another Warwick like it. Barts sound fantastic!
  25. And sold!
