Just for clarity, I use a Boss ES-5 as a midi controller, currently sending midi to a Darkglass ADAM pedal. To use this with the C4, would I need to buy the hub? Would I then connect the Hub USB to the C4, the Hub Midi out to the ADAM, and the Hub Midi In to the ES-5??

Nice one for going to the effort of recording that. What a bizarre pickup design. To be honest though, I’m not sure this explains the issues away that I’ve heard with the Spectors? The limiter issue would not result in a generally quieter B string, more just quieter on initial attack?

It’s all a bit of a farce really. Have Spector issued a press release about the issue? I presume they must have somewhere, as opposed to just letting dealers do the defending? Or perhaps Fishman? Quick message from them confirming it’s a quirk of their pickup design would take the heat off of Spector. Do the 4’s have the issue, or just the 5’s?

Awesome pedal! Don't be too hasty on selling it, the head and BK circuit is great but it can't recreate the sounds this beast can, low end like nothing else! GLWTS -
Masterbuilds are rough CNC work and finished by hand. Best of both worlds, and can testify my 2017 Thumb wipes the floor with the eighties and nineties models I’ve had, outstanding build quality.

In the video @bagsieblue posted in here, it was clear as day, both in what you were hearing and what you were seeing on the compressor meter. Significant volume loss on a string I usually find too loud if anything on my basses. If they coerced someone with what sounds like some level of mental health struggle to take down a video criticising their product...well, that would be a thing, wouldn’t it?!!

To be a Dingwall competitor, the worst thing it could have had was a weak B... Still find it hard to believe that this wasn’t picked up by them or any of the reviewers, hopefully it’s just that infrequent and it’s a vocal minority? Routing doesn’t look great either...

Mad. This new short scale one without the knob looks a hell of a lot better. Just a shame about the price, but I guess if you are a Musicman/Joe Dart addict, small price to pay!

Huge difference for me, totally changes the attack of the note, but clearly this thread demonstrates we all hear this stuff very differently!

Check back to the little video I linked with Nolly demonstrating how he uses a compressor. Very useful indeed with overdrive/distortion, depending on what result you’re looking for.
