2. Cadbury Bass has been dropped off with a tech today to be fitted with a Darkglass pre and series/parallel switches, should be picking her back up next week!
3.
Ok, poor choice of words. But I still don't know why it's only his products that get this amount of polarising discussion.
I think one of the reasons why is the somewhat "preachy" nature of some Barefaced owners. There are many, many very high quality cabs out there these days, which of course is awesome for us. Some will think Barefaced build the best for their surprisingly loud-for-their-size speakers and lightweight nature, others would think there are many with much nicer tone than Barefaced and volume/unexpected lows are not everything. However, I think a select few Barefaced owners feel the need to tell everyone that Alex builds the best and loudest cabinets in the world, even more than he does! That naturally gets peoples backs up, and creates threads like this. There are LOADS of example of both sides in this thread alone, preach and bait and argue. I have already congratulated Alex, but I do wish people were allowed to have their opinion without being shouted down, on either side of the arguement. I bet I get shouted down now, for example!!
4.
Yes, I see people try it but I wouldn't say they make it work. I'd agree that they might think they get away with it but I wouldn't call it a successul mix or good sound. I guess you have to be there..
What a wonderfully sweeping statement!
5. Oof, awesome price! Wonder how this would compare to my Vanderkley...
6. I'm yet to use it on stage yet, but if rehearsals with my new band are anything to go by (two loud down-tuned guitars and a drummer), my Vanderkley 112MNT will keep up just fine for the kind of gigs we will be doing. I can't imagine needing a second. Sounds bloody superb, too.
7.
Back playing a stingray as well! Looks like a killer setup
All that movement of air, I'm surprised he can stand that close!
8. Congratulations to Alex in any case for getting such a high profile artist on board Feelings run high on Barefaced on here for one reason or another, this isn't the place to talk about it folks, and certainly not at a personal level, so lets keep on topic please!
9.
Well he does have the endorsement scheme where the cab is free in return for high profile use and exposure....
Is that true?
10. What did this rig replace? Something twice the size, or is he now twice the volume?
11. Welcome to the club!
12. I would love to do some blind sound tests with some of you guys!! Some of you appear to have a truly remarkable sense of sound.
13. Oof, tempted tempted tempted.
14. The GK and Tone Hammer are two very different sounding heads at their core, what kind of music are you playing??
The guys with the best sound round here invaribly use two cabs... or at the very least more than one chassis in a cab.
Many would disagree with that Get out there and try some cabs and see what suits you. I have recently purchased a Vanderkley 112 and it is an excellent cab. Can't imagine needing to run a second, either. What size gigs are you looking to do?
16. I hope this bass finds its forever home soon, kinda sad to see it passed around! Excellent price on this considering what you are getting, the MC pickup and DFM preamp combo is only found on the top spec instruments and don't come cheap!
17. Update on the mini rig:- Just back from band practice with a fairly loud metal band and this setup with my Dingwall absolutely KILLED. The cab pushes some serious air, very very nice sound and happily for me sounds superb with the Darkglass gear. No problem with volume at all, tons of power left in the bag too. Really impressed with the Vanderkley though, great cab
18.
I hope you packed it well
Could have saved a little cash. Send it via parceforce to an non-existent address, you'll have it back returned to you in a few weeks with a lovely amount of battering and bruising, FOC
19. Loving this
20. On of the better compressors you can buy on a tight budget, can't go wrong at this price!
21. Cant fault their customer service. I had a set a few years ago that started flaking awfully after a couple of hours use. Contacted them, sent replacements with no further questions asked. Sadly, I don't get on with the string and do find their prices a bit, well, crazy. But the service you are paying for is top notch

bassfan's feedback

Sold Paul a vicious little fuzz pedal, agreeable chap, no complaints whatsoever. Cheers bud!
23. Picked this up recently, its a superb clone of the Woolly Mammoth pedal. Here is the video that sold me:- https://www.youtube....h?v=gNe6J5v2OGc Stupid lows and vicious fuzz. Like the Mammoth, its for Passive basses only really, but it does sound SO big. £25 shipped to your door.
