1. Cheers for that, bigjohn, lovely kit too.
2. Rainy Saturday morning bump. Could be willing to sell separately.
3. Crikey, that's a whole list of dirtboxes. Love it. Thanks for taking the time to do this - I'm loving the videos, my wife not so much...
4. Hi all, it's time for me to move my beloved Ampeg rig on. I'm not getting any younger, and it really is a beast, so it's with a heavy heart (and mild hernia symptoms) that we're parting ways. I've got a blackfaced US made SVP PRO preamp that I've had for 15 years, really well looked after and recently retubed, into an SVP1500 power amp. This thing is uber loud, and has a lovely tone to it. I'd be looking for about £400 for the pair to enable me to get something lighter that still sounds half-decent. OR £250 for the pre, £200 for the power amp (plus P&P) any interested parties? Photos HERE
5. Don't suppose you're up to trade for a 'blackface' US made SVP PRO?

DHA DI-EQ
Top class pedal and amazing value. My only worry is the way the ground lift switch sticks out the side. I'm certain I'm going to break it off one day. Dave, any chance it could be recessed or protected in some way?
Not really been an issue so far, as mine's on a board, but I see your point. Rotary switch on top maybe?
7. Failing that you could look on BC's very own list of recommended amp techs here.
8. Ab - 4th fret 'E' string. Lovely sound. Not G# though, that would just be wrong...
9.
I still use mine, but with an exP pedal. Set to modes 10&11, I get some really great swell/ sweeps
actually, yeah, I used to run mine with an expression pedal and things improved vastly. The whole setup was just too big for my board though.
10. EHX bass micro-synth. I replaced my SYB5 with one of these. It still won't store presets, but is a bit more musical and tracks better. Granted, it's not really a synth pedal at all (just good filters and an octaver), but still better than the SYB-5.
11. +1. you can put as much current (mA) through a pedal as you like - the stuff that isn't used gets sent back out to the mains. What you can't do is to exceed the voltage rating. I'm in a similar predicament myself - loads of 9v stuff, a 12 V 1.5A valve overdrive unit and an old 24v EHX bass microsynth. 3 plug for the board, and one each for the pre and power amps. 5 plugs for a bass rig? sounds good though.
12. Ass tight jeans? I think he forgot that you need an ass to put in them first.
13. Damn those pudd'n heeds!

Remember to tell people not to bid though...
15.
Too late, I've just asked him about postage to Greece. Wonder how much 'nothing' will cost to get there and how long it will take? I'm sooooo weak.
Tommo replied today with this: £7 000 000000000000000000 ha ha I don't think he's taking me seriously...
16. Just bought a DHA VT2 pedal from Rich. Really fast, smooth, easy transaction. Great communication before, during and after the sale too, lovely guy to do business with - Rich, stop listing stuff or I'll bankrupt myself!

DHA DI-EQ

I bought a DHA DI-EQ pedal from a fellow BCer and I absolutely love it. I've tried all sorts of different pre's / DI boxes (Ampeg, Trace Elliot, MXR, EHX, Sansamp) and this is fast eclipsing the lot. The balanced DI out is super-clean, switchable between ground, lift and float, and the EQ is really musical. Even though it's solid state it has a real warmth to it, and can do pretty much any clean tone you could imagine - everything from bright, blistering slap to old school thump and thud. My best purchase all year (and there've been a few...). It's small enough to fit in a gig bag and can be powered by a 9v battery as well as a standard 9v Boss style adaptor, so it's ideal for jam nights / acoustic performances. I've even used it to play for a couple of shows and just gone straight into the PA and have always had a great tone. Like all DHA products it's built like a tank, but much easier to operate. For £70 new it's a real no-brainer - I'll probably never go to a gig without it again.

21. I agree with this thread to some extent - there are a lot of snake oil salesmen about, particularly when it comes to musical / Hi-Fi kit. I too am a cynic when it comes to all the jargon (and let's be honest, some ingenious marketing) and would have been prepared to throw my hat in the ring with the rest of the scoffers up until last week. Last week, for the first time in my life I bought some George L cables. Not content with believing what I'd been told I A/B'd my 'old faithful' Van Damme and Neutrik bass lead with a 10' length of George Ls straight into Pro Tools and then used a spectral analyser to measure frequency / signal loss (I know, the telly's broke). There was a noticeable visual difference in the graph results, but not much audible difference. Turns out I'm losing 10dB of signal in the 10KHz-20KHz region (top octave of human hearing), but the drop was down between the -70dB and -80dB region - chuff all really. So, yes, there is a difference that is measurable. Is it significant? Not really.
22. If this pedal isn't on your 'wish-list' then you're dead inside. That is a scientific fact!
23. Cool, will record some tonight. Your little boxes really are the balls!
