1. Just listened to the live version posted on here and I'm warming to it. The studio version I heard a while back seemed a bit erm, iffy? Can't remember what it was that put me off, but I seem to recall it wasn't a good listen. Maybe I'll try again...
2. herro to you too, ruverry to see you.
3.
Spot the watts...
Mmmmm, Fletcher / Munson curves.
4.
Roll the balance control on your stereo fully left, then fully right then back to the centre for a quick demonstration of that theory Not twice as loud but there may be a benefit from having two sources of sound instead of one.
Where's that function on my iPod? Can't find it anywhere...
5. Not had that - PT10 needs an iLok to open, whereas PT8 and below needs the Mbox to function - is it something as simple as this? Failing that you could delete and reinstall the drivers for your hardware. Oh, you've not just 'upgraded' to PT10.2 have you?
6. This just in - EZ Drummer Lite for £10 http://www.timespace.com/product/EZDL-120/3/9999929/toontrack_ezdrummer_lite_%28serial_download%29.html?utm_source=Fri+17th+August+2012&utm_campaign=Fri+17th+August&utm_medium=email It's my 'go to' drum software, really easy to use and sounds great.
7. I went in VERY carefully with wire wool on mine, then epoxied it.
8. Curses - beaten to it http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/KeyStudio49i.html
9. MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. A MIDI controller keyboard just sends instructions to wherever you've told it to (virtual keyboard instrument in Logic for example), it doesn't generate or process audio. To record your bass amp through a mic you'll need a soundcard (either the built in one or a USB/Firewire external) to convert the audio to a digital signal that the Mac can process. If you want to do keyboards and drums through Logic instruments then you'll probably need an external soundcard AND a MIDI keyboard, don't know if there's anything on the market that does both...
10. It's worth picking up a used Mighty Mite neck too - I put one onto a cheap fretless body and it's transformed the whole instrument - sounds incredible now. They occasionally pop up on here for round about £100 and are well worth the money.
11. didn't think it would take long!
12. Nice that!
13. I've been admiring Lakkies from afar for a while but I reckon I'll give them a wide berth.
14.
You can get near to a P sound with a Jazz. A mate of mine does it very nicely with a 77 Jazz - prob one of the swamp ash ones of that period. However if someone is on the same bill, using an actual P, well it does show.
True dat, just switch us the neck pickup and you're really very close. Not quite though... Tried a few P's but couldn't get on with the neck. I reckon Dunn had it right ( this and loads of other stuff too) - P body and Jazz neck. Unbeatable.
15. no toolshed? where do you keep your erm, you know....things?
16. Don't worry, you just can't do it yet. Singing and playing bass at the same time is notoriously difficult; it just takes time, patience and electric-shock therapy.
17.
Mate I'm liking this, btw, what patch cables & power are you using? Proper nice and tidy
Them look like "George L's' to me, and yes, they are neat and tidy - really good quality too.
18. Wow! I've got one of these for my acoustic bass guitar. And yes, I am a pimp. "Ya Damn Right" bump.
19. I haven't got a dog. My cat makes a quick exit once I start playing. next door's dogs are a different matter though.... They do not, not, not, like the low end.
20.
I've had that Jonas Helborg book for over 10 years and still not mastered a single chord!
don't think, feeeeeeeel.
21.
Me too !!!!!!! Life's great , isn't it ?
Mine is. You can feck off!
22. B'stard! I'd only had two sips...
