£1500 should get you a handmade bass to your exacting specifications. Making a '75 Jazz bass clone should be well within the abilities of a decent luthier.

There is some great work there this month..

Just like every other month then! The amount of talent on this board is staggering; we're awesome!
I bought a knackered Wah pedal from eBay and just rewired that. Robust? I should say so, and it was a darn site cheaper than the plastic Roland/Boss ones.
Also, if your guitarist is using a valve amp to overdrive the signal then putting the delay effect in the loop will sound different to putting it in front of the preamp. Well, slightly different anyway...

just in case you've got some Germanium PNP transistors lying around...
bloody Hacks eh? These are the sae people who initially slated Nirvana's performance at the Reading festival, and then, after Kurt's death it was suddenly the pinnacle of live rock and roll. I saw it on CD the other week. Sycophants.

Good DI? Check (whisper quiet) and a really flexible tone shaper/overdrive/clean boost too.
Oh, and it's also a headphone amp...

Awesome kit. I've had the Aggi Tone Hammer, Sansamps, MXR M-80 but finally settled on this beast.

Before it's been relic'd it's probably a nice looking bass. After it's been relic'd it's a bass in need of a refinish and should be priced accordingly to account for the extra money that needs to be spent to make it look good again.

100% true fact. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you want a 'reliced' instrument all you need to do is to buy one and gig like a bastard for 30 years. Job done.
I played through this very amp last week and it was lovely. Lots of lovely, warm low end despite only being tiny wee speakers. "Whatever" is also a genuinely lovely bloke to do business with too.
Imply an Em, A7 to add a bit more harmonic interest in bar 8, then you've only got 7 bars to worry about. You could do the same at bar 4 too, giving you even less "squeaky bum" time.

Yeah, I like it ... if I take the plunge and get one I may get back to you for details of the mod if that's alright.

that's fine. I'll start looking back through my notes to see what I eventually settled on...
