Some strings would be handy but they will be £10,000 extra I expect

It's been on before a year or so back as my mate sent me the link knowing how much I liked Tele basses - or was it brunettes...rather out of my league on both counts

This is a heavily modded blue flower finish Precision bass. The body is a MIJ Fender with passive Kent Armstrong PJ pickups and a rather chunky aftermarket bridge. At some point it had active pickups installed as can be seen by the battery pack at the back. All routing is neat and tidy and the pickups have Allparts chrome pickup surrounds. Since taking the pics I've ordered some matching knobs for it too. The neck has an amber tint with very thin lacquer and wide nut width giving it an authentic vintage look and feel. Frets are excellent and the neck is straight with an easy action and good quality Fender 70s type machine heads. It's an Allparts Licensed by Fender neck. The backplate has the Fender F stamped on it. There are plenty of dings to the body and you can see where the blue flower vinyl has split in places under the lacquer. The bass has a great sound and balance, it plays well and is reasonably light weighing in at around 9.8lbs. It comes with a modern but quite battered Ritter case which will protect it if posted. I'm not really looking for trades. I'm happy to post in the UK for £20.

Note how he states Fender 'style' - if that's a US Fender the world is flat and there are faeries at the bottom of my garden listening to Ted Nugent doing a talk about vegetarianism.

Got a couple of these old speakers for sale, both work perfectly with no rips or problems, though dusty! They sound great and are suitable for guitar and PA applications both are 85 watts at 8 ohms and I'm looking for £40 for the pair. Shipping would be about £12 as they are quite heavy. They are made in Scotland and 'don't know' which way to vote yet

I bought this from the forum very recently as I needed an amp quick for some recording whilst my MB amp was being serviced, it's done its job now and very nicely too! I was going to keep it as a back up but it's far too good for that and I'd like to free up some funds so here it is on sale. Note that I can post it for an extra tenner in the UK. It's very loud, very small and made in Italy. Sorry no trades. Specs are here - http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=82
I had one of these until a few years ago, sorry I sold it now, lovely bass !! http://www.danarmstrong.org/bodyfull.html John
Yes I had one - the sliding pickup bass, it reminded me of a Gordon Smith in construction. Mine was the version with the longer horns the 'London' bass - they come up for sale occasionally but generally at stupid prices for a niche instrument. I've seen these Greco's come up at silly prices too especially on eBay - hopefully this is realistic although I'm open to sensible negotiation of course!
Please surprise me....
Heh heh! Reckon just over 9lbs it's certainly lighter than my JV Precision. Silverfoxnik - I'm not sure it's a Bill Lawrence pickup it's got a good solid tone though. I was told it is the original pickup so I assume its a MIJ lookalike.

To be honest there was no choice in the matter the seller is a shop and used UPS as standard. When it gets to the UK it's automatically handled via Royal Mail following clearance, there appears not to be a choice in which courier to use from there. Perhaps that will change now they have been sold off. I think Parcelforce is going through a lot of changes now they have been privatised they will need to sort their archaic systems out if they are going to survive in the competitive market. Incidentally having been off work recently following an operation I have taken advantage of UPS home collection and they have been excellent.

So I've been waiting just over 10 days now for a bass to come from the US. The parcel was trackable using UPS international online tracking and very efficient too. I know exactly when it left the sales point and it's journey by air to the UK. It even told me when it hit customs and after being cleared informed me I should expect a letter requesting import duty payment. That's when good old Royal Mail & Parcelforce took over. I got a letter on Thursday requesting payment for import duty charges and a 'handling fee' of £8, charges weren't excessive so I was pleased. It stated it wouldn't be delivered until Monday unless I paid a surcharge of £12 for Saturday delivery online as it was quickest. So I paid that as Monday I'm out and about all day. This morning I got up very early (as they often deliver around 8am here) and checked the tracking number online - 'Loaded on the van for delivery' so I waited. I used another tracking app that stated it was 'at the depot awaiting delivery' this was at 2pm. Now on the official website Saturday deliveries are between 7am and 1pm. On my order confirmation email it states between 7am and 2pm. When I rang initially the helpful member of staff checked tracking and said ring back at 3pm, I rang back at 3pm and was told 'looks like the driver hasn't turned up for work so it's not left the depot'. Through gritted teeth I asked the member off staff where I could get my money back and was given another number (unmanned on a Saturday after 1pm). She also informed me that this 'always happened on customs clearance items when paid online and that they were trying to remove the Saturday option from the website'. So as soon as my parcel got to dear old Blighty the problems began, what a farce. Now of course Ill have to take pot luck that some kindly neighbour will look after it for me when I'm not home on Monday! If of course it manages to get out of the depot.....rant, rave, drool, etc.

Wonder if the bass is called Sharon? Not a bad deal though!

That reminds me I must visit my local 'wood instrument maker' and see if he has any 'made to look vintage' bits of instrument for my fire.
