  1. Look for an Akai SG01V vintage synth module - you can get them on eBay ranging between £55-£100 and a small midi controller keyboard - I got an Evolution battery operated 2 octave keyboard with full size keys and an Akai module for less than £100 the pair - the synth has some great Minimoog and other vintage bass synth sounds. This set up has served me well for live work and is nice and light. I've used it live as it's much more stable than my vintage analogue synths.
  2. That's mine and it's been discussed elsewhere here. It's a lovely thing but I tend to use my Shergold Modulator.

    And now £435....
  4. Yes the body is quite ergonomic compared to many doubles and it's made from obeche which isn't a dense wood. The heaviest bits are the plethora of tuners!
  5. It's mine and it's not as heavy as the Gordy twin neck I sold on here. Weighs just over 12lbs and balances ok when standing. It's being sold as I have 5 Shergolds and I love them all but rarely play any other than my Modulator - although another Marathon 6 would be nice. I'm after what I paid for it so if anyone is interested here pm me....

Hi it's heavy given it's stunted size but not too heavy if you know what I mean I reckon it's just over 8lbs Cheers

Yep a great little bass - lots of interest but as yet mainly from overseas. I'd prefer to sell in the UK as it's less hassle but may consider it as the bass is relatively small. At buyers cost of course!

Thanks it's a great setup but a bit too much for my needs at present - I used it last night at Lancaster Castle in one of the old prison wings incredible tone and power.

Cheers Karl you are right a versatile and powerful amp. For those who have asked I don't want to sell the modules separately.
  17. Cheers
  18. Thanks for the info 4000! I've had a fireglo 4000 and an azureglo the former had a through neck and wasn't as nice to play as the others. I read that the fixed necks were fairly uncommon in the Ric bass book. Having said that 4000 basses are pretty scarce full stop! Yep I really like this one, it's beaten up but sounds and plays superbly.

    Bump for offers
  20. Boxed with instructions and used at home a couple of times only. This works with the Moogerfooger pedals and the minis plus all the newer synths. Postage will be a fiver. Cheers
  21. As promised a couple of pics of my 4000 note the set neck only produced for a short time. The tuners are replacements apart from one of the 'wavy' Grovers. It has been refinished as you can see some of the old burgundy paint job through the dings. In the last pic it sits next to my similar era shortscale 3000 bass. This is a bolt on neck 'student' bass that has the loudest pickup ever!
