1. What a great bloke to deal with - Jon and I did a trade; my Gordy Blueshift for his Peavey T40. Very easy trade without any problems at all. Many thanks - Ash
2. Sold thanks!
3. And remains as bad as ever!
4. Kaput non Fender neck sold at a stupid price.
5. The Quartet isn't a particularly valuable synth and it's pretty robust so yes I'd agree that in this case it's worth considering options further afield. I was happy to courier my Wasp synth as it wasn't a heavy item and I bought it as 'scrap' although on its return journey it was rather better insured!
6. My first bass - Fender Musicmaster ( I still have the owners manual for it and always check the serial number against any white ones I see ) sold when skint at college age 17. My old faithful JV Squier Jazz sold to a fellow Basschatter about 23 years ago, he still has it ( and has more of an emotional claim to it after all these years) but I still miss it and badger him about it when I get the chance!
7. Gibson 'Clipper' ? Didn't know they made cigarette lighters - although I've seen some Tokai copies
8. The other chap is Tony Allgood at Oakley Sounds in Penrith although he mainly builds his own now he will sometimes look at an interesting oldie - which yours is. He bought a Logan String Melody off me a year or so ago, knowledgeable and friendly. Link - http://www.oakleysound.com
9. Cheapo midi keyboard bump
10. Price drop £45 1983 MIJ pickup type bump
11. Gerry bought my MIM P bass great guy to deal with - cheers mate!
12. Lovely amps just refurbishing a Selmer PA SV100 as I write this. Bloody loud old amps with a gorgeous tone.
13.
Ash, 2nd set, 2nd number guitarist breaks string 2 bars into solo. Screams at me to fill and I make a very badly timed hash of it. Your kind lies are appreciated . To all others daft enough to read, I HATE ASH. He looks like one of those ridiculously handsome young 60's film stars. People who look like that have NO place in the bass world Hope your Achilles is on the mend Mr. Oh, and a Welsh organiser contacted the drummer last night, about another festival.
I must have missed that bit or the alcohol had taken its toll! Ha! Ha! I wish the female population of a Lancaster believed that but thanks for cheering a chap up My Achilles is on the mend I'm a one crutch bass player now. Gotta say that it's a standing joke with me and my mate who is a massive Lynyrd Skynyrd fan - we always and I mean always shout for 'Freebird' at every gig we go to no matter who is playing; Magazine, VDGG, Manics, Eels, Bill Bailey, Courtney Pine, any pub band, blah, blah.... You lot did it and did it well rendering my mate speechless
14. I saw the band last weekend in Lancaster and you looked pretty happy up there on stage mate! Good to meet you finally and hear the band - who were excellent by the way!
15. Yep my local too a great shop and a top bloke
16. It's a pickup selector switch, the top is missing ( you can pick them up cheap enough) so you can use the treble pickup on its own if you want - sounds great quite mid range and honky, there are a lot more tonal variations than the pure 'mud' of the single pickup version.
17. Bump for a beauty!
18.
Found this thread so thought I'd add my old Eccleshall 335.
Now that is a beaut! Have you still got it?
19. Give him a shout he wanted £300 for a quick sale
20. I've been in touch via the Shergold site. I nearly bought it but then came to my senses and bought a T bass. It's a nice bass though.
