  1. Labella short scale flats have no silk at the ball end and blue silk at the headstock end.
  2. Here you go Stew. 01 Ever played a gig sitting down? Yes, for a few years after a radical prostatectomy (sorry, too much information). Livened things up by fitting a butt-kicker to my stool so I could feel the bass. Nice. 02 Ever gigged on a different instrument? Trenance Infants, Newquay, Percussion Band on triangle 03 Ever shared a stage with a musical hero of yours? Not exactly a musical hero but once jammed with Denny Laine. 04 Any fan ever had a tattoo of your band's logo? No 05 Ever signed an autograph in a dressing room? What’s a dressing room? Oh you mean the men’s toilet. Definitely not. 06 Ever cried on stage? Only in despair 07 Ever worn a hat on stage? Many times; beanies and flat caps. Either to keep warm or keep off the sun. 08 Ever gigged with a band you hadn't met before the gig? Yes it was a bit grim. 09 Ever been in a relationship with a fellow band member? No 10 Ever played in different bands on the same day? Yes at a Farnham Free Music Festival, 2002, depped for a blues/rock band when their bass player was very late then gigged with my own band. I‘d depped for them before and eventually joined them permanently until there was disagreement over money and I was fired. 11 Ever had anything thrown at you while playing? No. 12 Ever crashed on the way to the gig? No but van broke down and we had to switch vans. 13 Ever left a band over the choice of set list? Yes. It was a start-up and the singer had very fixed ideas about the set list and how the money was to be split so I said goodbye. 14 Ever slept in the venue despite it not being a hotel? No 15 Ever been supported by a band clearly better than you? Oh yes 2005 at Willenhall in Staffordshire. We were headlining but were supported by the Trevor Burton Band (ex Move). They were very good, much better than us. 16 Ever played a gig suffering from some debilitating medical condition? Only alcohol related conditions but that was some years ago. 17 Ever been in a band where the guitarist was your favourite bandmate? My 1964-66 band, the Elite Clique. 18 Ever played in the grounds of a stately home? Some place in Hampshire for a wedding back in 2004. First we set up indoors and then someone had the bright idea of being out on the terrace at the other end of the building so we had to move. A right P.I.T.A. 19 Ever injured yourself on stage? Only my pride 20 Ever been told that your bass isn't loud enough? Yes because being a bit Mutt and Jeff I tend to be either too loud or too quiet.
  3. Actually I rather like the black. Tort looks fine on my 70s Sunburst P and J.
  4. Better late than never, here are my pair of Metros.
  5. Hi, Browser is Firefox and image is .jpg straight off my phone this morning. Does the same with Microsoft browser. When I click to add a posting to a thread it doesn't always load the attachment window fully. What does error -200 mean?
  6. Whenever I try and upload an image I get an error message "-200". What is wrong?
  7. This is the third Sterling that I've owned. Several months ago I decided to sell it however once I took it out to check I quickly realised that it had to stay. I've always like the MM tone and the neck is just right for my small hands. It's been very good company this past week.
  8. Rest assured I'm fine. I have closed the Rock-wire business and retired however I still have components and can make the occasional cable should any BCer want something. The current problem is that, like many, I am in isolation and therefore cannot, and do not want, to go to the Post Office so despatch would have to wait until the current situation is resolved and Coronavirus is consigned to the history books.
  9. A favourite of mine. Great song from a fun film.
  10. Unopened 100m reel of Klotz AC110 cable. £160 collected or plus carriage (it's heavy)
  11. I spent most of my working life in the broadcast industry, firstly in operations with the BBC and Thames Television, then in the administration of ITV before moving into the manufacturing industry where I was involved with system design, selling, project management, construction and testing of broadcast AV systems. These included outside broadcast units, studios and multi-VTR video editing systems. Our market area was Europe, Africa and the Middle East so I got to travel to a lot many interesting places as well as the USA and the factory in Japan. During the latter years I was Technical Manager for Exhibitions responsible for the technical design and installation of exhibition stands especially some huge ones at the annual broadcast show in Amsterdam. The largest of which was 1800 sq.metres on 3 levels, built in 11 days and taken apart in 2 days. Due to downsizing I was made redundant in 2003, just 3 years off my pension, and I vowed never to be employed by anyone else again so I did a bit of contract project management for a few years until a health issue forced me to cease. In 2001 I discovered Bassworld and one day in 2004 a member asked how to connect two pieces of kit together so I suggested he needed a particular cable. Where can I get one of those he asked so I said I'd make him one. A week later another member asked if he could have a similar cable but with the opposite sex of connector. It was at that moment that the penny dropped and the cable business was born. I never intended it to be more than a hobby in retirement and I have seen others come along and, with the help of the Internet, build up some very successful businesses. As of the end of this month I shall finally be fully retired although always happy to help another BC member.
  12. Sorry but I'm not seeing anything, just this text. What's wrong? "Bass moment at the end of “Black Coffee in Bed”. What’s better than hearing your name announced by @glenntilbrook ? 🇬🇧 Thanks to everyone in @squeezeogram who made me feel (and play) like a member of the family. Posted by Sean Hurley Bassist on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 "
  13. Actually what really changed the world for me was seeing Little Richard backed by Sounds Incorporated live in 1962. A life changing experience.

  19. I've been waiting for this. I wonder what the differences are between this and the USA version apart from the price.
  20. FINAL PRICE DROP TO £300. As I am no longer gigging I am reluctantly selling my Bergantino NV115 Cabinet. It's in excellent condition and comes with a Berg protective cover. Collection or meet in M25 zone. Would consider trade involving Berg CN112, CN210, BF One10 or A small lightweight combo, e.g PJB, etc. WHY? Please note the Handbox is not for sale.
