I'm thinking/hoping a decimal point has slipped. harmony central

There are odd round marks either side of the bridge that could be where the holes were but have been filled and lacquered over.... ... (or they are the pencil markings for where they will go once the fake has been fully assembled )
looks a bit minty fresh too
Extraordinarily so (apart from the bridge). Someone's bid on it though. A friend? Or someone who knows his '53s?
£57! it could be a bag of whatsit but for£57 i would have had it. strange though, i'm no expert but it's an odd looking Rosetti.
Yup I seriously considered this flight of fancy but unfortunately there are plans afoot for something more practical and ultimately more gigable so I let it slide.

Ouch! Kinda makes this Rosetti that was in my watch box a bit of a bargain eh.

We made about 4 or 5 attempts to start a myspace for our Pearl Jam tribute. Each attempt lasted about a day before inexplicably disappearing. Bebo is less fussy and is just as good to link to.

Great stuff. You guys should release "Got the Good Funk". There's a lot of personality coming through there - a bit sort of Zero 7.

They gave me the run around (regular emails saying it would be in next week etc) for nearly 2 months after I'd paid for a bass once. Gave up in the end, got a refund and went elsewhere.

I though that might get your attention. Now listen to a tune from my youth with a nice bit o fretless (although it's better on the album).
If I were being completely picky though, I would say one thing: Good relics feel different from new instruments. Most instrumentists would agree that older instruments have a "played-in" feel that new instruments don't, and a good relic will have something close to that kind of feel. The Fender roadworn tele, for instance, I tried it out and it had an "old friend" feel to it that the new US tele didn't. I still wouldn't own one, but that's worth considering.
Is that like luthiers that can also do yer teeth? I'm not a fan of fake relicing. The thing about genuinely hard used guitars is that they used to be associated with hard working and ultimately very good musicians. I caught a re-run of Jools last night and Dave Gilmour was playing a seriously beat up Tele. Now, I don't care if he wore it out himself or bought it because he's earned the right to play it - and everyone knows it. But some people want to give the impression they've earned the same right, when they haven't, so they go out and buy that right. I think the difference is whether or not you are trying to pass it off as your own. At the end of the day fake is fake. Also, a mint bass is worth more than a totally reliced bass which is worth more than the same bass with a few chips or scratches. What's that all about? apologies if I'm rambling - got a migraine.

I'm right glad I resurrected this thread then. If that is him, I'm f*ckin popped. I've just read a few posts and he's been fairly active (including trading) since signing up in January and even had the gall to poke fun at some dodgy sellers. W*nk!

Man I'm ashamed that a fellow Scot pulled this sh|tty stunt on you.

Just flicking through some old posts. How did this turn out in the end?

I've always had a penchant for Explorers (J Hetfield I suppose) and have nearly gone for ZZBs a couple of times but for whatever reasons didn't. Never played or heard one either. If I did get one I'm not even sure if I would play it on stage these days - just in case the punters didn't get the irony.

This time I bought a shed load of Sadowsky Blue Labels off Chris. True to form, a hassle free deal. Thanks again.

Quality Set ups in the Aberdeen/Tayside
Ou7shined replied to boabskiboab's topic in General Discussion
Ah well if you wanted a fret dressing I couldn't of done that anyway. RnB? A few years back I put a new heavier set of strings on this cheapy bass I had for use at a gig later that night but just couldn't get the intonation and truss rod setting perfect afterwards. I had tonnes of organising to do that day for the gig so for convenience sake I bunged the bass into RnB for a quick set up. Collected it later just proir to heading off to the gig and there were bite marks all up and down the sides of the neck (presumably from some sort of vice ???) there were scratches on the body and the intonation was worse than when I put it into them. I ended up having to reset it at the side of the stage while the support were on. They used to be ok but since they moved to The Green it's just a joke of a place.
