1. Very sad news. RIP
2. Right, it's the naughty step for both of you then.
3. You need to get a price up buddy. Tis the rules.
4.
I've never seen real fretboard wear that looks nice, and yes that includes my G-3
I don't remember your G3 being all that bad, certainly not as excessive as the fake jobs end up being.
5. The relic'd look I could live with but I've never seen faked fretboard wear that looks real or nice even. This bass is no exception. Love this alienating line though.
...so if you've got tiny hands...this ain't for you...it's a mans bass!!!
6. What 'e says ^ An '80s bass for collectors and aficionados . The electrics, neck and body all in great condish. With a typical fat tone similar to that of Mark King of Level 42 Serial number - 04 477 tel - 06 72 29 58 00 No trades - collect in person (I think)
7.
Well check out my mock up draft of the Bongo I designed in photoshop... if I was going to do it right, it would have looked the bollox
You should go for it. It would be world famous.
8.
I agree the 2EQ is a more driving P type tone, whereas the 3EQ always reminded me of a much more aggressive and bassier version of a Jazz, (sort of).
Sacrilege!
9. I feel your pain mate (it's happened to me several times) but it's a free world what can you do about it. I guess a quick PM to who ever posted it saying "do you mind deleting your post as I was trying to catch a bargain there and you may have inadvertently put it in the spotlight" might work then again they could just tell you to GFY.
10. Good to hear it. A word of warning about CH guitars though - go easy with their screws, they are cheap shyte and you can strip the heads first time of you're not careful. Good luck and don't forget to put up a build diary for us to follow.
11. That's right. It's not always about getting your money back or making a profit, it's about enjoying yourself and learning a different side to what we love - basses. The sense of achievement pays for itself. I've seen basses described as being pimped out with just a change of p/g - personally, I like to take things a little further than simply dropping in some off the shelf parts and go "wood deep" but I'm sure the enjoyment factor is the same.
12. It's split for hum cancelling.
13. Blindingly good deal. edit : lol I just clicked the link - I said the same thing the last time.
14. There's a really confused bricky reading this right now.
15. Thing is I actually do have dyslexia and when I first read your thread title that's what I thought it said.
16. sh*t I hadn't clicked on your link before making my oh so funny joke.
17. One protable powder mixer. edit : Damn my dyslexia.
18.

Love it.
19. Damn! If only it were a 16 string.
20. I too think you should honour the contract and take it up with ebay, if they admit liability then they will intervene, there's no point taking the law into your own hands. If you have a firm statement from ebay saying the auction was invalid then case closed. Imagine the shitstorm if everyone recanted on all Friday auctions if they didn't like the end price. (I'm guessing your motivation isn't born through sympathy for the guy that wanted to bid late) And at the end of the day it wasn't a complete washout, you achieved £60 under your opening price on here which ain't bad.
21.
The screw holes don't 100% meetup but it basically still fits! So, is the lack of fit due to this strange bridge then? And I do need the big screws but don't need the brushes because they still appear to be in the body, yes? I'll let you know what deal I agree with the fellow on the EB forums. I've learnt so much about MM basses in the past few days!
The trick is to get all the screws in most of the way (but not nipped up) then nip them up and you p/g will find it's optimum position itself. That bridge is definitely too long for the job. You will need the "big screws". There are no brushes but your body appears to have it's own bushes (a good sign that it is at least a real MM) you will need to put in your own 3 screw holes at the rear. I just found you thread on the EB forums - I'm glad they confirm pretty much everything I said here. You really need to get some pics before splashing out over 100 quid on it though - also factor in import charges seeing as it is coming from the Pacific North West.
22.
Are the MM pick guards always the same fit and size?
Excluding different pup combos, yes but there may be minuscule differences. I had a MM p/g on my SUB - it was a 99.999% fit.
23.
Could be if it was custom made to fit a non-standard bass with a different bridge.
And it just so happens to fit Faceman's too. Bit of a coincidence don't you think? Anyway he said earlier that he replaced it with a MM one.
24.
Position looks fine to me. The bridge you've got looks fine to, quite nice in fact. I wonder if its worth replacing or just getting on with. Not original, of course, but looks nicely made.
It doesn't allow the p/g to fit properly.
25. Bit of a nightmare for the guy who actually won it too.
