1. Soliciting bids on here is a bit of a no no. You need a price (as pre the t&c's) mate. Good luck with the sale.
 2. Just make it look like this and you'll be cooking with gas. How did you get on with the shielding btw?
 3.
How do you go around making your own bass? i would like to end up with a jazz style bass with some tweaks and a different look. Any advise on how to obtain body's (or making my own) necks and electronics, also paints or finishes. oh and cost.
Often it's best to put an ad up in the wanted section and see what fate turns up for you. Essentials : body neck pick ups brigde tuners Sundries: pick guard string tree strap buttons (straplocks are nice) thumb rest ? Once you've collected your parts you can then form an idea of what paint (or not) you'd like to go for to compliment it. Good luck.
 4. If it were me with a spare £750 I'd have snapped up this but I have a feeling this might have been more up your street.
 5.
Pretty sure the fat one is an E, but after that you're on your own.
6.
Has anyone here played one of these? It looks like a bit of a car crash?!
I actually don't think it's all that bad. It's kind of parallelling the concept of the Pingray... right down to the Delanos. The 8 pole part of the humbucker is a pointless gimmick and just looks so wrong (they should just of kept it 4 poles IMHO) and I hate Neutrik sockets on basses. I didn't think much of the sound clips though - quite thin and awfuly bright to my ears. It might benefit from a decent warmer sounding pre-amp. Out of those clips I think I preferred the P+Ray setting, it had a sort of Status sound going.
 7. Use the best neck. Don't tell the snobs but you can get a decent sound out of a good solid ply body but if you don't have a decent neck then you can say ta ta to intonation. For me the hierarchy of physical influence goes - pickup, strings, electronics (presuming active), neck, bridge, body. YMMV
 8. From the face of the nut.
 9.
....And if money was no object-I'd commision an Ou7shined Pingray!!!
My faith in humanity has been restored.
 10.
You meant an OLP, surely
Nah it's just you that thinks that.
 11. You're gonna get 4 or 5 top end basses mentioned here then 3 guys will come in and say a Squier is all you need.... it's all subjective.
 12.
Question's which is better MM bridge or G&L?
Or this one?
 13. If you're very careful, could you get a spot of superglue in there? A spot in each end would suffice. All you have to do is get the nozzle in as tight as you can so as to not get any glue on the front and let the capillary action do the rest. It might not be a permanent fix (it might come loose in a year or two) but it would save taking it to bits. Any bits of glue on the chrome that you can see should just pick off with your finger nail once it's dry.
 14. What an Ernie Bell-end.
 15.
I could be wrong but aren't a lot of MM's through body?
Pre EB's are.
 16.
Where's Tino, he should go over to the EBMM forum and ask
17. All the points above are valid. MM bridges have the logo embossed in them and one of the first clues as to a fake being passed off as original is the absence of the logo jumping out at you - about the only plus point of EBMM not selling spares. One of the things with Stingrays is that they seem to be developed to conclusion, there's simply no point in modding them any further. In fact a modded 'ray is often viewed as a buggered about with 'ray rather than an improved one. The only real exception being CF necks.
 18. Played one and found it really bland tbh.
 19.
Dear mister scam artist suggest next time you research properly the history of fender and don't waste other peoples time with drivel like this in the hope of driving the price down
It's funny how people often criticise you for what they themselves feel are their own faults. That reply should read....
Dear knowledgeable person who took time out to offer some helpful advice. I am a scam artist who can't be arsed researching anything about Fender but looked up Jazz Base on Google to make sure I got the name right. Please don't waste my time with facts as I have intentionally posted lies with the hope of driving the price up.
20. You didn't say you were setting the intonation. I guess you could measure the distance from the nut.
 21. Ping a harmonic and it'll tell you.
 22. Looks interesting. -> linky The start price is a bit mean but hey...
