1. That was one hell of a conversation.
 2.
so not the worst sales technique!
It never has been. It's the guys who "safely" open bidding close to their asking price who all to often miss out on capturing peoples attention... and I for one rarely bid on anything with a reserve as I know chances are it won't be the bargain I'm looking for.
 3.
If you ever need to build a bass for Gollum, make sure to give him a ring. He gets a bit tetchy otherwise....
Haha. Sounds like a bad Hobbit to get into. I'd be better off communicating by Shadowfax. PS seen your photobucket lately?
 4.
Dunno like, pretty sure you'd be Gladriel if that happened.
I'm not sure it would be a Samwise thing to do.
 5. Cool. I hope the auction runs it's course. It would be nice to see what today's market value is..... probably more than £410
 6. There Ent no accounting for taste !!!
 7. I'd Mordor anyone who did that to one of mine.
 8. Might as well put one up from one of my bands too http://youtu.be/OfT8NlLPwF4
 9. Any opportunity to dust off this old meme of mine ....
 10.
beautiful. Only one glaring omission: we need a picture of the "homemade bass". It's a rule.
Thanks Jose. Ah yes my bad. I don't have any official pics of her yet because she's not officially finished but just for you mate.... Goldie Alder bod - maple/rosewood heid Audere JZ3 VB G&L humbucker (of course) weird grey bobbin ex-Tokai J pup (possible one-off custom job) G&L bridge Schallers clear plexi thumbrest oh yeah Datsun gold paint on bod (the reverse is black) and heid
 11.
Surely a Stig Pedersen tribute bass: http://www.metal-arc..._Pedersen/85102
And he's looking at the frets. Must be a fair gap behind what we can see from the front.
 12.
Nope! If the hum goes when he touches the strings the bridge ground must be making good contact. From what i read i would say that the problem is lack of shielding on the bass. Isolate the electronic cavity and the back of the pickguard with some copper foil and the humm will go away.
Don't you just hate it when a bass is fine for weeks then suddenly overnight the shielding lacks.
 13.
How do you change the note?
I presume the tube is cut away at the back to allow your hand in.
 14. Definitely not one for the fingerboard starers
 15. So is bit about it being a trade show bass true or just sales guff then?
 16. Sounds like your bridge/earth wire has come owft. 5 minute fix.
 17. Bit of solo effort this. Woke up this morning with an idea for bass, recorded it then edited up a video for it. All the music is played on bass. http://youtu.be/eHmlIijkCzg
 18. Just play the thing
 19.
Just you wait till you build me something
20. Yep as above... also if you can find one, those '70/'80's cream pups from Dimarzio are ace. Sometimes go on ebags for just a few quid.
 21.
Indeed. Fender have made a fortune out of selling P basses to people who don't think about it.
Haha good one
 22. Wood glue is only really good for joining wood. What you want is something which will penetrate, bond and reform lost material. Still use your matchsticks (I prefer toothpicks as they are untreated chemically) but use superglue instead. Once set, this will give you something very solid to screw into. It might be an idea to drill out any remaining wood glue first.
 23.
That looks more like a musically related pin-down technique. Where that number I had for the RSPCA...
Haha no that's him just trying to sneak into my seat after I put my bass down to go have a wazz. He thinks he's the number 2 in the household and therefore entitled to the bosses seat when I'm not there.
 24.
... P.S why don't you have a readily available gallery of your crazy contraptions, ou7shined?
Because people want me to build them all the time. I'm currently doing 3 Basschater basses with a possible fourth on the way.
 25.
Sorry boys, pardon my ignorance but what is a Wunkay please?
L-1000 = 1k = wunkay
