1.
Ewe certainly bleat the competition there. ...sorry, that was baa-d. ...I'll get me fleece.
2. You want a ram bass? I'll give you a ram bass.
 3.
I've met the Fodera guys they definitely aren't in it for the money, lol. I really can't imagine any luthier is making a lot out of making instruments
Fair doos. I was only assuming so.
The Luthier I worked for was working for well below minimum wage when he worked out the hours he'd put into an instrument vs the price he could charge for it....
Sounds very familiar.
 4. Oh dear. That's not even trying.
 5.
But often in that process, greed rears it's ugly head an the builder wants to take as much profit as possible for his/her incomparably excellent product...
Trust me, most builders aren't in it for the money. If they wanted to make their fortune they'd take their skills to a real job with a regular income. (we're obviously not talking about the Foderas of this world here)
 6.
Grr!
Yup that's how it sounds.
 7. From our last gig in The Moorings Bar Aberdeen Saturday 5th October And as requested ....
 8.
Come again?
9. I'm relieved it turned out to be sweat stains. Thought it might have been a NBD over excitement faux pas.
 10. Interesting. What does the flat response do, skip the U-Retro tone?
I've been looking for years for them. I think I may have found one though (or maybe two!) - they are a very musical preamp with a stunning top end, especially with a set of soapbars.
I have one too. If you need help/info on wiring just ask.
 11. The thing with the U-Retro though is, while it is an awesome preamp it is also very coloured and when installed you sacrifce the natural sound of your bass for the U-Retro sound - if you are lucky it will enhance the sound you require, if not it will take it over. I installed one in a high spec J bass recently and it only lasted 2 rehearsals (the second time was to give it the benefit of the doubt and also to work on my theory as to why it didn't work for me). Soloed it was utterly fantastic but in a band situation it somehow killed the life in the room - my theory is that because of the powerful and broad spectrum of frequencies it produces it clashed with the other frequencies from the band and cancelled them out....for everyone. The Schack preamp is about the best I've ever come across, easily rivalling the JE for spectrum but is also more customisable (internal micro switches allow you fine tune it to your bass or taste) and more importantly for the OP will do complete passive control. Try finding one though.
 12. As long as you can find it's value and as long as nothing else went, yes.
 13.
...... sorry does that read a little condescending ? not meant to be just trying to be helpful , i'm not much of a writer .
Not at all it's refreshing to hear from experience rather than repeated rhetoric.
 14.

Haha winner
Stirrer
Fa me?
 15. Are we confusing mud with bass? .... tone vs frequency
 16. Anything with a humbucker in series in P placement or forward. ... or just about anything with any decent active circuit with max bass boost and max treble cut.
 17.
Sorry dude, I don't mean to knock it, it is absolutely fabulous.
Aye well watch yer lip next time. Only joking bud. As I said before black is a bit too predictable for me so I tend to stay away from it bass wise. But this guy is really playing the evil card so it fits real well for now. Sometime later down the line it could all change.
 18.
...I love the colour black, but I think a bone colour for the skull and bronze for the horns would have been perfect.
For my purposes black suits my needs fine just now but yeah I could easy go back to the original design idea at some point.
 19. Yep that's actually a quite good call. When I sprayed the satin paint I had to prep the matt stuff back to the wood and half way through sanding it looked pretty good.
 20. Bought a pedal off Alex. Great guy to deal with.
 21. About time. That last site was a pain in the butt.
 22.
Purple Beastie saves the day in the end haha! ...
Just means I can't paint it though. lol
 23.
I love how you go London to Stoney!
I know. Right next to one another.
