  1. Music streams hit 4 trillion in 2023. Country and global acts — and Taylor Swift — fueled the growth ... So am I.
  2. Have a look at the Stanley Clark repertoire..?
  3. Don't forget to unplug the jack lead from the bass when not playing, as it's the jack plug that switches on the battery for the active pre-amp. Leaving the lead plugged in all the time will drain the battery (Not Good...). A decent battery should last several months of 'normal' use, but far less if the bass lead is not removed. Hope this helps.
  4. Doesn't this already happen, when projects need land for motorways, airports, high-speed rail links and more..? Presumably some kind of compensation is offered; it's not a new concept at all.
  5. Why..? It's easy, from any PC, and costs nothing. The video files generated can be simply deleted once the footage is of no further interest, or kept, for years. I've several excellent BBC series that I can either watch again, or recommend to others. Is there a downside I'm unaware of..?
  6. When I started playing, mid-late 60's, I had no money (as an apprentice; £6 a week...). I was given, free, a run-down Thames 15cwt van, which I got running from the scrapyard, and went several years with no insurance, road tax, MOT or what-have-you. Obviously I was very careful to not get caught, but the old bus wouldn't have reached 'speeding' speeds, anyway..! I built my own SS amp from electronic magazine schemas, buying speakers and stuff from Tottenham Court Road and Exchange & Mart. We had no money but made 'our' music as best we could. Happy Daze.
  7. @AndyTravis's entry ⤴️, embedded ...
  8. And the winner is... @skankdelvar..! Here, then, is your Winner's Certificate (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... BC_Chal_Cert_2023_12.pdf ... which looks like this (but bigger, of course..!)... ... and a Happy New Year to one and all.
  9. In my early days of 3d printing, I had issues with either items slipping, or becoming so stuck as to impossible to remove at end of print. I tried several remedies, including glass or mirror bed, hair lacquer and more, but the problems were solved by the use of this magnetic bed mat. I have had no issues at all since using this mat, so I recommend it heartily. Inexpensive, I clip mine to the moving bed with tiny bulldog clips. If you get slippage or adherence issues, it might be worth a try..? ... Amazon : Magnetic 3d Printing bed mat...
  10. Guitar played through a Fender Bassman sounds very 'right', to me...
  11. On the other hand, when I'm looking for something in particular on Amazon, for example, I'll usually look to see if the item I require is available 'occasion' (second-hand...). These are usually returned goods, sent back for whatever reason, most often slightly damaged packaging or a small mark somewhere. The items are guaranteed in the same way as 'new', and I've yet to be dissatisfied with what I receive. My Tascam audio interface, air fryer, electric kettle, model boats, too many books to mention and more have all been as good as new, to me, and the torn or discoloured boxing went on the fire just the same as new would have done. It helps, maybe that I don't seem to suffer from ODC or the like. Just sayin'.
  12. If it's got a scratch There's no other that will match its 'mojo'. If it's got a ding Embrace that thing as being unique.
  13. I'm not at all sure that I'd even notice marks such as those I see in the photos. No, it wouldn't be sent back. I'd probably just start playing it, and (possibly...) spill a cup of tea over it in my reckless excitement, clumsy oaf that I am.
  14. One redeeming saving grace... it's short. ... ... ... OK, not short enough, but still...
  15. I'm not sure that this model has a fingerboard overhang. Might be wrong; s'been a while since I looked.
  16. According to legend, Perseus cut off a Gorgon head, which could turn folk to stone. Hmm... Legends, eh..?
  17. OK, then, here's another option... Performing Stand ...
  18. In my opinion and experience, the strap tied at the nut, as for an acoustic guitar, is the best solution. There are numerous purveyors of such straps; easy to find, inexpensive, and well suited for such a lightweight instrument. Hope this helps. Douglas
  19. Probably that there 'artificiel intelligence' showing off again. I did note that the drum fills have not been inverted, though, so 'Poor show' from me; I'll not be buying the album.
  20. unless it's contact cleaner, for cleaning contacts. Folk are so used (conditioned..?) to thinking of WD40 as a rust remover et al, it's not (yet...) in the Public Psyché to imagine that they do, now, make a contact cleaner. It's so easy, though, to reach for the wrong can; I use KF2 (I'm in France...), or Kontact. Both are very good; WD40 may well be, but my can lasts so long, I may never get to try it out.
  21. Can we see it from the outside now, please..?
