  1. Parpaing Papier (We were asked to play their support slot...), at our local pub's 25th anniversary 'bash'. A Good Night was had by all.
  2. Take them all, and swap basses at every song change. If possible have a 'tech' bring you the next bass between numbers, so that folk notice that you've swapped basses. Be a rock star.
  3. Here is my contribution to the November 2023 Basschat Composition Challenge, illustrated with a picture chosen by SH73. Just keep going. Don't look up, keep your eyes down and try to look natural... My Xavière guitar, one take direct into Reaper through my Tascam interface, using Bias Fx 2, 'American Dream' preset, and that's all. Thanks for listening, if you already have; if you're about to, enjoy.
  4. My fingers, in association with my ears.
  5. I've a pair of leather trainers as drumming shoes, and a 'Grateful Dudes' T-shirt. Do they count..?
  6. If the PA has been regularly used over a decent period, it is no longer to be valued at the original buying price of £600 each. The leaving member must surely agree to a reasonable depreciation sum, no..? If not, it could be argued that he pay you all your £600 each, and keeps the PA himself. Nonsense, of course. Your initial investment should have been 'paid back', little by little, by the gigs you've done, until its (constantly decreasing...) depreciated value is reached, at which point it's basically a 'free' PA that you all own, but has no residual monetary value. These arrangements can easily be made, at any time, by mutual agreement and consent. Do it now with all the current members, in preparation for the next time someone leaves. A bit late, but I hope this helps.
  7. No music in our house to speak of (and no budget for it, either...) until I started work and bought 'Surrealistic Pillow' and 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn'. It all went downhill from there.
  8. I would guess the Prince' demos to be multi-track already, and so not need this separation treatment. I could be wrong.
  9. It doesn't cut through the same for RATM numbers. Thanks, though.
  10. That's a little bit more tricky for drummers.
  11. The camera you've bought can only create video directly to a computer; it has no means, itself, of stocking a video file (no memory card or the like...). This precludes Reaper for recording video, as this is not (yet...) available as an option. You will need software to record from the webcam; I use, and can recommend, 'Shotcut' for recording and editing my video, adding audio if necessary. Shotcut is free, and does all you'll need for your videos. It can be downloaded here ... Shotcut ... ... with tutorials, here ... Shotcut tutorials... As with all stuff of the sort, there is some learning involved. It's easy enough to do easy things, and there is help available if you get stuck. Have a look and see if it fits your needs; hope this helps. Douglas
  12. Why not both..? It's 'tradition' to use a Soundcloud track, as everyone can easily access it in decent enough quality, but if there's also a (Youtube..?) video, it wouldn't hurt, so... Fill yer boots, chum; fill yer boots, and 'Welcome'.
  13. You wouldn't care to elaborate on that, by any chance..? What didn't strike a chord with you (or struck a raw nerve...).
  14. This is exactly the type of reflection that Anger Management can help with. Still, your call. Peace.
  15. I'd respectfully suggest an anger management course.
  16. And the winner is... @SH73 ..! Here, then, is your Winner's Certificate (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... BC_Chal_Cert_2023_10.pdf ... which looks like this (but bigger, of course..!)...
  17. Hmm... It seems that, in France, there are exactly six practitioners. The nearest is Paris, 300 kms away. Hmm... France practitioners, centred on our cottage...
  18. Gone 73 here; your post is inspiring enough for me to look a bit deeper into all of this. I'm not (and have never been...) a paragon of fitness (no breath, no stamina, weak kidneys etc...), and a couple of decades ago I had a light yoga regime, but even that became too much, so, with regret, I stopped. If this turns out to be not too strenuous, and brings any benefit at all, I'll be well pleased. Thanks to all for the suggestion and experiences. Hmm... Let the Googling commence..!
