I've a list of 'members' that would, in my opinion, deserve the epithet.

A folding four-panel screen/room divider, cunningly papered over on one side with a full-sized photo of the hallway wall. Open it up around the junk PA stacked up there and it'll all 'disappear'; she'll be none the wiser. Either that or a Harry Potter cloak.

How about 'phoning a bloke I know that does ... Oh, sorry; no, forget it. ...

And my lists..? What would happen to my lists..?

It's all a bit self-defeating in the end. When (not 'if', but 'when'...) 'marmalade sandwich' starts being used as a genuine insult, I'll have to invent another euphemism for the filter to use. I'm compiling a list of 'soft' words to be called up in such circumstances, listed (yes, I'm sad like that...) in alphabetical order. My current favourite for replacing the above example is 'robin', which, of course, will itself have to be replaced once it, in turn, becomes adopted as an uttered profanity. Eventually the wheel will turn full circle and we'll have to recycle 'old' terms, and 'sn0wfl@ke' will again be preferred to whatever nasty word is current in the future. Such is life. Sigh... ...

If it's anything like the clips on t'Tube, they're Good Stuff. I, too, would like to reduce your stocks, if you'd like to quote me for expedition to France, please..? Maybe we should start a whole 'Unsung Unsold Heroes' thread, for liquidating stuff like this..?

Hmm... Some audiences go specifically to see some drummers do their solo stuff. Maybe you're not moving in those circles, but they're out there, and many are darned good, too. Joe Morello's 'Take Five' solo spot, as just one example..?

This ^^ There is an inherent risk in every experiment: the risk of failure. Playing jazz is the acceptance of that risk, with the reward of a supreme buzz when/if the experiment 'works' and it sounds great. It's difficult (not impossible, but difficult...) to get that much buzz from playing any other way.

My principal bass is a vintage Hofner Verithin bass; it plays nicely unplugged, solo, but won't match up to anything more than a nylon guitar, played softly. Most hollow-bodied instruments are not really hollow, they have a centre block and hollow 'wings', that's all. The old Hofners, including the violin bass, the Verithin and the President basses, are truly hollow, but not loud at all. Hope this helps.

Undeniable mastery of the ivories, but a bit too 'Tom & Jerry', methinks. A pity; could have been so much better with a bit more 'musicality'.
