  1. See you - Depeche Mode
  2. Chanson d'amour - Edith Piaf
  3. It doesn't sound like a Kawai - not as phat or as punchy. I need to look at alternatives to the custom pickups supplied so any advice will be welcomed on replacement MM style pickups. All very frustrating as owners of these basses know how playable they are - I haven't been able to. I've been thinking that I should have just left well alone and played it with the pick ups as they were. We live and learn (hopefully)
  4. Can't find many reviews online so... Does anybody know anything about either or how they compare?
  5. Long train running - Doobie Brothers
  6. n case you missed the masterclass because of the time zone or you were just busy, I’m making the replay available to watch for 24 hours from now. That means you’ve got a full day to go in, learn everything you can about transforming single ideas into dozens of bass lines and try it out for yourself. Whether you missed the masterclass or you just wanted to go back and squeeze every single drop of juice out of it, I’ve got you covered: See The Masterclass Replay Here: https://becomeabassist.com/masterclass-thank-you/ Like I said though, it’s only available for the next 24 hours, so make sure and get in before the replay expires. Cheers,
  7. New Yoik, New Yoik, - Frank Sinatra
  8. David Watts - The Jam
  9. I got the bass back from Richard earlier and TBH I think that I may need to reconsider the parts used. It's going to be difficult to replicate the original Kawai tone.
  10. That's the same bass?? Would never have guessed.
  11. I had a single pickup on my Veillette Citron fretless - sounded amazing.
  12. A big Thank You to Richard for bailing me out with the problems I was having with my Kawai. A low volume bridge pick up resulted in me ordering a pair of custom replacements which didn't work with the existing preamp. Instructions weren't the clearest - certainly beyond me - but Richard decoded them and was able to install the new pair. Again, many thanks...
  13. Crazy love - maxi priest
  14. Use the TE
  15. Not for me thanks....
  16. Route 66 - Chuck Berry (ain't many roads longer than that)

  18. Is that a Hiscox case embossed with the Overwater logo? If not I have one I'm happy to swap.
  19. It's 1am UK time. I'll be tucked up in my bed at that time. I'll have to catch up with it tomorrow.
  20. ..and an indication of what most singers are...
  21. If you think about it the DeLorian must be the least driven car ever.

It was only ever driven from time to time.

  22. Stop dawdling man....get to it!!
  23. For me, "Ride on time" will always remind me of being on a kibbutz in the late 80s. Each evening we would find another kibbutz to go to. The Israelis would be happy to transport and accompany us as they loved the new style of dance music. We'd take our tapes and get the "dj's" to play them. We had the place jumping all night till we had to leave to start work at 4.15am. Great memories...
  24. I just posted something on another thread about a certain track being a means of time travel. Then I realised that most music does this for me. Songs that I haven't heard for a while will take me back to certain times and places which nothing else does - with the possible exception of smells and food. I'm sure that there's a scientific reason for this, which TBH I'm not really bothered about. Amazing though, don't you think? Examples of tracks and where/ when they take you back to...
