1. Good call guys but they all only sell the standard style screws which are a slightly different size! Only ption is to either send them a screw for them to compare or buy a load that looks like it I suppose. Either way its not a good option A
OK I've just emailed everyone who donated to say thanks. Very kind of you all. We're almost able to pay Ben now for his time and now saving up to pay for the upgrade to the latest forum software that should solve one or two small bus around the place. I also realised most of you are called Michael. Cheers and please consider donating if you haven't done so yet, as it will go right back to your forum. ped
Did you? A
  3. Grrrrrrr! Snapped right off while adjusting my 5er Jazz. Thing is its not a regular size since its from a piezo bridge. Ive compared it to a standard fender / MM style cheapo one and while the fender/MM are the same this one is a fraction larger in diameter and looks like a different thread but with the same size head. It only needs to be about 1inch long. Anyone help a guy out here? Or suggest a source? Much apreciated in advance I love this baby! A
  4.
Oh god why. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2c69e05684 The actives give it a driving sound, oh wait I ballsed them up more when trying to fix them, I will just yank them out then.
Oh that soft focus vaseline (or is it a beeswax smudge) on the lense. Next thing a few rose petals scattered over the body, lay it on crumpled silk sheets, maybe a glass or two of champagne in the background. Hes moving into his romantic period. A
  5.
Despite the mass of Jazz basses there I came away thinking that life isn't complete without a precision. Watch this space...
Well I loved the ray to. Yep they are [s]better[/s] different than the Ray34's and was very impressed by that ric. Neck felt alot better than I imagined and you could realy feel the quality. A
  6.
You'd love the harmonic slides on this A!
Ha! I can imagine it. Harmonic Slide on steroids A
  7.
I've contacted them twice over the last few months with queries about pickups which aren't on the website, and both times I've (eventually) had one-line answers of "We don't/can't do that. Sorry." It's a shame, because I love the Wizards I've used, but they don't seem to be interested, as you say, in selling anything which isn't in stock.
When I wanted a set of 5er Jazz pickups I got that reply to so bought some empty bobins and sent them to him to wind. It was the only way! But once you have the things they are very very nice indeed. A
  8. I did have to call Andy at Wizard to get an order after he didnt reply to my mails. He seems reluctant to do stuff thats not 'off the shelf'. Odd that he hasnt replied at all though!! A
  9. Could give the guy some serious ideas A

Ped (and the gang) Im sorry but I have no use whatsoever for a plastic bag on a string!! Never mind the fact that the pic of the 'thing' doesnt show up So I just bought 3 The sh*t that I get out of this site (Including the friends Ive made and people Ive met) is worth every bloody penny. No go and sort your sh*t out A
  11.
APA, could you remind me which strings were on one of your fretlesses that I tried? Were they GHS ground wounds? i.e. these: http://www.ghsstring...s/brite-flats-1 and do you know of anywhere that will sell them cheap? Ta! I want to put some on my Overwater as they were really nice to play (or that could have been your bass, either way I wanna give them a go!)
Ah well that depends on which one you played I seem to remember us talking about the ones on the 4 string dark green one? In which case yes they are GHS Brite flats. I got them of ebay: Paul Comerford http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GHS-M3075-Bass-Brite-Flats-4-String-Bass-strings-49-108-/300694949773?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4602d0cf8d The ones on the 5 string Antiga were Rotosound 77 Jazz Flats Hope that helps A
  12.
You know I was just sat here wondering how he did that
AHA!!!! Ive cracked it You do the harmonic then press (Finger it as normal) and slide. Woohh hooowww. And I worked it all out by myself* A *Actually Mrs APA suggested I press and slide when I was demonstrating it to her. I did humour her just to proove it wouldnt work and it............ errrrrr............ did
  13.
Is there a collective noun for Jazz basses?
A 'Burp' ? A
  14.
You know I was just sat here wondering how he did that
Well he hit a harmonic then slid his finger up or down to the next one and the pitch went with it. Quit simple really. I mean how difficult can it be!! Until you actually try it then what you expect to happen happens. As soon as you move your finger you kill the harmonic. It be magic A
  15. Nope you most definatly cant have too many Jazzes Oh and @ Oldslapper - Nope Ive tried but cant for the life of me make those harmonics slide!!!!!!! Cool pics btw OS and Captain Rumble. A
  16. all the above plus make sure you have a good break angle at the nut. This means making sure the string is wound around the machine post at the lowest point so it is angled down between the nut and the machine head. Ive got roto flats on my 5er. Doing this made a big difference when i installed them. A
  17. +1 on the chilled easy atmos. One thing I did notice is there was a distinct sway towards Jazzes. Lots of those but only 2 P's from what I could see. Interesting since they are supposed to be 'The' Bass A
  18. Great day Nice to meet you all. Cool talk by Jo. Thanks to Old slapper and Yorks5string. Realy enjoyed it. A
  19. Ill be bringing my 3 bitza fretlesses. Would appreciate some feedback on them A
  20.
He had a bit of a pickle finding strings to fit, they're all rotosound and sound fine together which is ok for now, I'll replace them withnsomething more to my liking when these die.
Ha! I know how he feels!! Im guessing they are flats? The top B looks like it anyway with that red silk. I realy like them. What was the prob? Finding a 6er set? gauge? length? Fantastic build btw Real attention to detail. Good choice A
  21. Whats with the odd string? A
  22. I think Id go for a Jazz bridge / MM neck combo rather than an MM/J. You still get that burp then. OR do the 2 MM but have a single coil option switch on the bridge and get the best of both worlds A

  24.
When the world ends and all the Fenders and Musicmans are gone. Rickenbackers are but burnt shadows on the ruined stages of old theatres. Gibson is just a word and Lakland is a legendary place where no man has trod. The few surviving bass players will hike across the land and sail the brown polluted seas to find M Fillips. And to buy one of his legendary instruments.
A lonely band of the few remaining players marching on a quest through the smoking, decaying and destroyed landscape. On the quest for the legend of MDP. For no man has ever actually seen or heard one of his creations. They live in hope. Thier only guide is the distant mesmarising sound of Master Nigel Clutterbuck who, under his spell is doomed to play slap from the highest peak for all iternity. When the world ended MDP took him under his wing to act as his Siren. To lure those devotees to his mountain layer......................... A
