all the above plus make sure you have a good break angle at the nut. This means making sure the string is wound around the machine post at the lowest point so it is angled down between the nut and the machine head. Ive got roto flats on my 5er. Doing this made a big difference when i installed them. A

+1 on the chilled easy atmos. One thing I did notice is there was a distinct sway towards Jazzes. Lots of those but only 2 P's from what I could see. Interesting since they are supposed to be 'The' Bass A

I think Id go for a Jazz bridge / MM neck combo rather than an MM/J. You still get that burp then. OR do the 2 MM but have a single coil option switch on the bridge and get the best of both worlds A
