1.
Thanks guys, i'm Cambridgshire based so would prefer something as local to that as possible! I've had one quote and I didnt realise how expensive it was going to be!!
Spill
2. ^this I have too many of them. Even my Milestone III is good value for money
3.
Anyone else notice how ahead bass players are socially, communication. I've always noticed the dry pan humour which most bass players share. There isn't much egotists amongst us. And that is definitely something to be proud of when you are playing music.
This ^ I'm not a great fan of the Rolling Stones, but the thing I always liked about the video footage I saw of them was Charlie and Bill just quietly grinning at each other, just getting on with it, while the rest ponced about up front
4. Sounds as if you've done the right thing and done it well. Good for you
5. My main bass is the no-name CAR J-style I got from Mr Foxen for £80 plus postage. It's done me very well.
6. Just acquired an FJB-6 (J-style) from BCist green_alsatian via eBay. Lovely Did they do a P-J?
7. Wow. Way out of my price bracket, even if I wasn't trying to downsize, but still, what a lovely thing Good luck with your sale
8. I'd like to know how old it is. I can see the s/n on the back of the headstock but can't read it. I suspect the owner doesn't know Billy Sheehan from Billy Bragg. But it looks like an Attitude of some sort, I have a defretted 5 not unlike it. I don't know Yamaha history but I expect that the Attitude Standard is just a leetle bit cheaper and lower spec than the Billy Sheehan Limited Edition The quote seems to be from the Yamaha website: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/el-basses/signature_models/attstd5/ 2005 TalkBass thread: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-attitude-standard-used-beginner-rigs.183906/
9. Interesting. Received wisdom seems to be that of the Warsaw Pact-made basses only the Czech ones (Jolana, I think) were really up to much.
10. The Hello Kitty one looks like a deranged giraffe. Not that that's a bad thing, you understand
11. It makes perfect sense in the early 70s
12. Same seller has/had a Kramer The Duke priced at £450 or £500, appears every now and then. That does seem a little steep.
13. The battery is under the neckplate? Surely then you'd have to remove the strings to change the battery?! And also, Russian 9v battery... what do they look like?
14. Jazz on Radio 3. I keep trying.
15. This one is going to depend on the reserve, which obviously i can't see. But it will be worth keeping an eye on. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43cfc6dd19

Traded

Why is it this sort of thing comes up when I'm broke? :grumbles: Good luck with the sale
17. Tasty, and at a good price
18. This seems to be the upmarket version, according to the seller? (I wouldn't know, that's the first I ever heard of it.)
19. +1 for Yamaha RBX. I have an RBX200 with a few dings, cost me £100. Fab little beast. If you go for a Harley Benton, be aware you may have to change/lower the nut - I had one 3-4 years back which was very good for the money but the nut was more suited to a fretted bass. I can't say what the 2014 ones are like.
20.
Surely the seller didn't cut and paste from another sale......have you checked the last bit about the map!!!
Some of the pics could easily be from Google Earth.
21. About half the songs on Tom Petty's 'Full Moon Fever', I reckon.
