  1. If only it were rosewood and/or had pearloid blocks…
  2. I didn’t go as far as putting it in my basket so your figure is likely way more accurate. I think it’s probably best to wait and try one from bassdirect with the option of a cheap return.
  3. It looks US-based but still looks like it might work out cheaper.
  4. I don’t quite understand what you mean about the subs being passive. It doesn’t glitch. Many fuzz pedals are lacking in dynamics and oompf. The Mastotron is not one of those.
  5. Nice one, with the subs on full it is fantastic at driving envelope followers.
  6. I’ve tended to find that radii have quite an influence in combination with other factors. Wider nuts and wider string spacing are more manageable to me when the neck has a smaller radius (more curved fretboard). Flatter fingerboards are ok if the nut and string spacing are narrower. (Anything above an 11” radius I just find uncomfortable.) These combinations allow my fingers to keep their natural curve when playing at the low end.
  7. I second the Fat Fuzz Factory. I had one and sold it here (maybe I should’ve kept it) it can do super tight gate or wild self-oscillation. There a plenty of sounds to be had from it. Getting a stable sound is easy as long as you have the “stab” control up past about 1 o’clock.
  8. That’s a pretty penny. It’s going to have to be absolutely astounding to justify parting with that kind of money.
  9. I did briefly own one of these and it compares very favourably with the octave fuzz on the Octo Nøjs. In fact it was much fatter sounding though isn’t gated. It can be very high gain at some settings too. At this price, and given I’ve sold my ON and Doom, I’m quite tempted.
  10. Is that Halloween speak for “groupies”?
  11. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  12. Sadly I’ve not had them side by side so can only judge from memory. The ON is probably buzzier. In terms of bottom end, I think the Valeton has a bit more (but not as much as the Octabvre). For under £40 the Valeton is a nice pedal. If using with a filter I’d open the tone right up and use the separate filter to cut the highs. The ON isn’t as flexible as the Cog T-70 as that particular pedal can switch between three different user-defined settings at the press of a footswitch.
  13. You should totally get a Mastotron anyway. It doesn’t give more, it gives something else. I don’t think I’d be without mine now. The OC-10 is pretty cool sounding too. I think I’ll probably end up buying another Octo Nøjs too.
  14. Yep. For well under £100 this is awesome. I can’t say with absolute authority if it truly nails the OC-2 sound as I’ve never played one. I’ve only ever heard recordings of it. It sounds spot on compared to those though.
  15. Undoubtedly by me. I had an Octo Nøjs and loved it. I sold it recently and am kind of regretting it as the parallel gated fuzz in it is brilliant. It tracks pretty well and is much better on open strings (other than low E) than the other October’s I’ve had, including the MXR, which is still the best-tracking octaver I’ve played; the Red Witch Zeus came a close second.
  16. These are cool and this used to be mine.
  17. No, but I posted some clips of this last year.
  18. This may be a digital-only trick though.
  19. I wonder if that’s a mod Tom at Cog might be able to do.
  20. Nicolas bought my Doom. Very straightforward transaction with prompt payment and clear, friendly communication. Many thanks!
  21. Yep. Just been through this. Sold two basses, a Rhodes and a load of pedals to be able to do it. Still took a week to move.
  22. You’re in for a treat. It was designed by Mike Beigel who is the creator of the Mi-Tron III and the Q-Tron. They also go for for £80 and under.
  23. I’m really tempted to get a second one of these as they are so useful.
