  1. Over-packing could have been a contributing factor. One needs to allow a certain amount of “crush space”. I once bought a Nord Piano on eBay where the seller wrapped it in bubble wrap (in addition to the original packing). The fact the bubble wrap was touching the piano caused one of the LEDs to get crushed. If he’d just used the original packing it’d have been fine as it was two polystyrene end pieces which left a huge air gap between the outer box and the piano. My point is, over-packing can sometimes cause damage.
  2. I’m in that club now. I played for years using my ring finger when playing at the lower end of the neck. Then I picked up the Simandl book on double bass fingerings and it was a revelation; suddenly playing low down wasn’t uncomfortable anymore. I use a mixture of Simandl and finger-per-fret, depending on where I am on the neck.
  3. I’m trying to pare right back and am finding I’m using my Mastotron much more than this so am offering it here. Owned from new, never gigged and still in outstanding condition. Comes with the original box and rubber feet too.
  4. I just bought a multiple-output power brick so this trusty power supply is now surplus to my requirements. Bought from new, still got the box, has only had fairly light use.
  5. Or save for the Midibass and use it with a Minitaur - portable, phat, 128 presets selectable directly from the bass.
  6. Just seen that my lovely local shop is selling Meris pedals now. If you’re thinking of buying one, please consider getting one from these guys. I will be. https://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/search/?query=Meris
  7. That’s a great price too and about what I paid for the discounted first version I bought.
  8. I still think it could be improved with built-in triggered ADS(R) envelopes in addition to the envelope follower. I wish I’d tried this with a Minitaur. One could use the gate out to trigger the envelopes and the pitch CV for the oscillators.
  9. I feel like he barely scratched the surface of what this pedal can do. (I don’t mean that as an insult - it just seems a very deep pedal).
  10. That didn’t last long Andy! I’ve been meaning to check in and see how you’d been getting along with it.
  11. The modulor, convertor and Squaver p1+ are now all available as “fulfilled by amazon” purchases.
  12. EHX C9, MXR Bass distortion or bass fuzz Deluxe If you do a google image search for “guitar effects pedal” or “bass effects pedal” or whatever, you can filter the results by colour and brown is one of the choices.
  13. Sorry, I meant “loads of filter pedals”. Of the ones I’ve owned and played I think there were only 3 or 4 that allowed this.
  14. There are loads of pedals which are like this. Admittedly I do like to have the feature wherever possible but it’s not a deal-breaker. There is a mode to switch between instrument level and line level in the global menu. Don't all basses come with a volume control? So at least any level differences between basses can be dealt with. Perhaps Angelo will be able to add a per-preset volume setting via a firmware update.
  15. Matt bought my spectracomp today. That has got to be the fastest basschat deal ever as after he paid and sent me his address, it turned out he was just down the road so I popped round and delivered it. We had a nice chat for a while too. Deal with confidence. Many thanks.
