  5. Even though I've spent most of my life in cities, I now live just outside Lyme Regis, where fire is still viewed with some suspicion. Subsequently, it has come as a little bit of a culture shock to find that there are precisely no decent sized musical instrument emporiums within a few miles radius that I can just walk into and release some pent up gas. As you may imagine, I am quite sizeable by now, and am in need of some relief. In my wisdom, I have decided that next week I shall take a day off work and go trawl around and lick as many juicy basses as possible, but not being locally born and bred, I need to ask for a little help in finding such purveyors of fine woodwork. So far, after a look-see on t'interweb I have found 3 shops in Exeter, namely Musicroom, Mansons and Project Music, and one in Taunton, Hartnoll Guitars. Can you lot recommend any more please Chahs
  6. Mick Karn did play some stuff fro Kate Bush yes. Not sure about Gilmour playing fretless tho. My personal fave bass player of Kates is John Giblin, his fretless work is just sublime, a joy to (try and) play. As for kate being a bass player, I hope not
  7. did we find out whereabouts in the country you are?
  8. Im not a Fender man by any stretch of whatever you want to stretch, but that is rather lovely. **goes off to stretch something***

  10. Guitarists eh? sheesh Hiow familiar does the following sound to you guys? I was in a band....well the beginnings of one years back where the guitarist had written a tune. Fairly simple but nice in its own right. "Can you put some bass to it?" So I write a line that fits behind the guitar line nicely IMHO and has a few little incidentals to sauce up his melody line. "Ooh that sounds good" and he starts playing my line. Grrr. "Ok" thinks I and writes another line to go behind what was my bassline but is now his guitar line. And feck me with a shovel, he does it again. Im no longer in that band
  11. At the end of the day, theres so much to choose from. Quite prolific little space trolls, werent/arent they? Tho ASAM not one of my faves, its still in my collection. "....fell onto the carpet, crawled across the floor, up on my shelf, inside my piggy bank, and............stole my stash." "STOLE MY STASH!!!!"
