  1. My schoolmate Darren and me started getting into Maiden, UFO and the Scorpions when we were about 12, listening to records round his house most nights. His other brother had gone to uni leaving behind a Kay bass, which got my attention tho i couldn't play it. Around the same time my older brother said he wanted to learn guitar, inspired by a bunch of his friends who had a school band. I didn't want to be outdone, so got a bass - a godawful short scale Satellite - and a practice amp, which i paid off doing a paper round while dreaming of being Steve Harris. That was 33 years ago. (I still want to be Steve Harris a bit tho...)
  2. The facial expression i appear to have in any photo of me playing bass live. Sort of slack jawed and slightly delirious.
  3. Did an outdoor charity festival thing with a band I occasionally dep for. Fairly indifferent gig but I got to play bass v loud, standing in lots of cool poses on a big stage and wearing sunglasses. That's me sorted then. 🤘
  4. I originally used some Ashdown stuff I was using ( a Mag 300 head and a Klystron 500 head) but for the last 10 years it's been a 500w Markbass LMIII.
  5. My best mates dad is the image of Harold Shipman.
  6. Some kids told me I looked like Joe Pasquale a few years ago. Lucky I don't sound like him too.
  7. Good bits of kit these. I've got a battered old one which is my little onstage office - holds all sorts of bits in the pocket.
  8. Hi phlebas, I've PM'd you back. Cheers
  9. Back from my holidays bump and further price drop. Now just £400. I don't want to go any lower than that - that's a lot of firepower for not very much money. This cab is in very very good condition, with its padded cover, and is a seriously good bit of kit. Go on - you know you want to.
  10. That's lush.
  11. PRICE DROP to £450.... A lot of speaker power for the money and an incredible live rig - you won't need another cab onstage if you're using this bad boy.
  12. Happy to consider reasonable offers on this as I need it gone!
  13. Ah I'm back in 1989 when I owned two of these! Cool basses that always felt solid and dependable. This looks in great nick too.
  14. Hello all, NOW SOLD.... Time has come to sell my Aguilar GS410 - its a very powerful, loud and lovely sounding cabinet, but alas too big for my needs now. It's a beast - 700w, 4-ohm cabinet, with four Eminence 10-inch drivers, a central tweeter with separate volume, plus top and bottom front ports. It's punchy, wonderfully transparent and huge sounding, plus does grit and grunt when pushed harder. The best bass sound I've had, and one remarked upon by other musicians I've gigged with. I bought it from Basschatter richardd in mint condition about 10 years ago, and its been infrequently used since. I took it out for three big outdoor gigs recently and while it reminded me how awesome it sounds, it's also way more than I need. It's in very good condition, with a few very minor marks on the plastic corner pieces as expected from gigging use. I've replaced the caster wheels at the bottom after one of the original smaller ones broke. I've got about four spare ones too which I'll throw in too. Comes with a clean padded Aguilar cover too, and lives in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Can't ship this given its considerable size and weight (44kg) so its meet up or collection only in Leicester or nearby. If you're interested I'm sure we can work something out. Looking for just £400. SOLD (These are currently £1,200 new). Specs from the website: Four 10" cast frame woofers, 56 oz. magnets Phenolic tweeter with integral phase plug Custom crossover with variable tweeter control One Neutrik Speakon and two 1/4" inputs Deep Dish Handles, Locking Corners 7 ply, void-free Philippine Mahogany Power Handling: 700 watts RMS Frequency Response: 40 Hz - 16 kHz Sensitivity: 101 dB 1W 1M Impedance: 4 ohms Dimensions: 28 ¼”H x 22 ½”W x 16 ½”D Weight: 98 lbs
  15. Is it?! Wow. That's great then!
  16. See i've not fancied the MIM versions before, but that USA one looks fantastic. Maybe the colour and the maple board. It looks really good.
  17. Which cab was that Dave?
  18. I've got a 1210R which is old and quite tatty now, but is my go to amp and i like the sound a lot. Mulling the idea of getting a 21012 or a 1212 to go with it - or is that just greedy ha ha?
  19. That's great. These are lovely basses. I have a sunburst '70, the same weight, same neck profile etc. Pickups really growl and they're lovely instruments.
