  1. Cheers Mick
  2. Am looking to get a refin on a Squier Mustang bass (oly white to black). Given the bass was only £300 I’m not looking at a costly job, any recommendations peoples?
  3. That is beautiful, the classic look for a Les Paul
  4. Heard it earlier, quite like it and will def get the album when it comes out.
  5. Great sounds, love Stingrays when someone else is playing them.
  6. On Thursday I’m going to see The Professionals, the band that formed from The Sex Pistols in the late 70s. They split in early 80s and reformed some 7/8 years ago, only one original member, Paul Cook, the drummer. Now people could say that they shouldn’t bother - only one original member/in their 60s etc - but live they are simply amazing, last time I saw them (at the same venue I’ll see them on Thu, The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes) was probably the best sound at a gig I’d ever heard.
  7. It certainly is when it comes to band fees 🙁
  8. Back in 2009 when I was in a covers band we used to get £250/£300 per gig. Fast forward to the start of this year when I was briefly in a covers band and the fees were the same.
  9. Just heard The Rollings Stones latest single Mess it Up, really good, that’s 2 songs off of the latest album that I’ve heard and like so think I’ll get the album.
  10. When I was using Markbass gear I contacted them directly a couple of times, can’t remember what about but do remember that they were very helpful and prompt In responding, may be worth a try.
  11. Same here tho only managed 2 gigs in the few months I’ve had mine, but similarly no problems with them at all, very easy to use and the dedicated case is very useful.
  12. Get the Player Plus as it’s the instrument you prefer, you can still get the traditional Precision sound from it by having it on passive mode and panning to the Precision pickup only.
  13. If it’s not too far away check the venue/PA/monitors out beforehand, if workable do the ampless thing.
  14. 58 in December, still gigging though have had to slow it down a bit from my more frantic gigging years. 10/15 a year more than enough for me now.
  15. Problem is that at the same time as petrol etc has gone up so it costs us more to do gigs, everything else has gone up so it costs venues more to run them. Coupled with less punters this makes getting more for gigs a challenge to say the least.
  16. I can see where you’re going Tim…. Its a mystery
  17. That’s (hopefully) a result Muzz, nice one
  18. Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders is of similar age and still sounds great in the original keys of her songs too.
  19. Awesome, thanks for the tip
  20. Just got in from a 5pm Spacewasters gig at The New Cross Inn, a 3 day psychobilly event. Went really well, good crowd, a few of whom said we’d been the best band of the 2 days so far. Put in a few new ones and also given it’s Halloween weekend did Bad Moon Rising. A def success plus home before 8pm, unheard of!
  21. Just watched it, I wonder if it was live as it was a very polished performance. Agree JT still killing it on bass.
  22. For me the beauty of the P is that it doesn’t have too much of anything so it’s very easy to sculpt into whatever’s needed - well apart from modern hi-fi sounds maybe.
  23. In my journey to find the smallest & lightest amount of gear to take to gigs am wondering if this might be a goer, having seen a pic of one and realising how small it is. My needs/wants are pretty simple, as below: DI to FOH PA for every gig Tuner A good sound akin to an SVT/Sansamp Same sound as above but with added drive but no added volume Would the HX Stomp be for me?
  24. The Ashdown is a nice little cab, sounds good and isn’t too boomy, easy to cart about.
  25. From the above I have deduced that I’m actually a guitarist who plays drums and does lead vocals
