  1. Ah, no drums and a heavy 150 watt head, well in that case a lightweight combo makes plenty sense.
  2. I think in this case I`d be looking at a lightweight 2x10 or 1x12 - you already have a 150watt head so chuck that and leads/tuner into a backpack, bass in one hand, cab in other, pretty much sorted. My Ashdown RM210 cabs are pretty light, and the 1x12 is lighter still. Have to admit that Ashdown Studio 112 looks like it fits the bill though.
  3. I’ve been using Fender leads for a few years now and never had any problems. I’ve got the regular black cable, the black & white stitched cable and the tweed cable, all have been fine.
  4. I suppose they’re musically related, I got Andrew Ridgely’s and Debbie Harry’s autobiographies - now got to flip a coin as to which I read first.
  5. Progress, Silvia.....
  6. It’s great there, Blue, lots of musical history, especially Beatles related. And the people are so friendly and welcoming, we’ve made some good friends over there.
  7. Nothing on NYE but we’ve a gig the night before in Hamburg, with friends of ours, Razors. Aside from my fear of flying am really looking forward to it.
  8. Good call Mick, my last gig as a substantive member of the band happens to be 30 Dec so mine is kind of a New Years Resolution by default.
  9. Can’t see the point myself, but each to their own - providing it’s not breaking any rules of course.
  10. Nothing specific, just going to try and learn some different songs & styles now that for the first time in nearly 20 years I won’t be in a band.
  11. Was my local for years, pretty accurate description all round methinks.
  12. Agree, I once tried out 3 identical Les Paul’s, one sang, one thudded, the other projectile vomited. I bought the singer!
  13. 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻
  14. That’s one of the worst situations, a load out through the drunkards, never an easy task.
  15. Great opportunity, seize it.
  16. That’s why I said less than usual - which is almost impossible but somehow he managed it 🤣
  17. I like the look of the silver & black Jaguar lookalike - would match my Ashdown RM gear nicely.
  18. Ink-Clan-Nation are worth a try if you ever decide to reprise these, they do quality products at decent prices, and are friendly/easy to do business with.
  19. Pushing into them with a 410 and then saying "thanks" usually does the trick. Like most bully-boys - and geese for some reason - they back down when it`s taken straight to them.
  20. I’ve used these guys for foam, very good, they should be able to help: https://www.efoam.co.uk/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA6IHwBRCJARIsALNjViX9oZ0uLXvaKnM2rOsyMO0JD95vky5HUQkcnrVHb3Qj96T0e0qfHXQaApaDEALw_wcB
  21. I have found that on the earlier ABMs that I’ve used that they seemed to need the volume pushed, which is very unlike the current 600 which is mahoosively loud from the off. Additionally in comparison to TE, I’ve always found them really loud and my theory is that that is due to the in-baked voicing - the TE sound just seems to hit a hi-mid frequency that is really audible, whereas the Ashdown stock sound seems less focused/biased in that area.
  22. I think our worst one was a place in Cardiff, no parking so quick unload in street, then load in to venue up 3 full flights of external iron stairs. At a time when the singer had had heart surgery so was carrying even less than usual.
  23. File it under Places We Won’t Play I hate these types of venue, not their fault as often nothing they can do about it but it just makes gigging that touch harder and less enjoyable.
  24. I bought a Stingray from the US some years ago. No issues at all, aside from it had been listed as a UK item so took longer to get here than anticipated.
