    I'm heading out on a 19 date tour of UK theatres shortly with my theatre band 'Leather & Lace', under the banner of 'The Bootleg Rock Show' which means with extra 'production' (big screens, lasers, pyro etc)!     It should be an EMG BTS circuit inside, so you have passive pickups with an active circuit. Upgrading the pickups to full active EMGs is something I tend to do, but if you're happy with the Hz pickups why bother, as you say?! It's worth flicking the two tiny mini switches on the BTS into each combination of 'off' and 'on' to see which sound you prefer. I, and many others, like having both switches 'on' for a more biting Spector tone, but playing dub/reggae etc you may find a different combination preferable. Enjoy experimenting!

    I've seen numerous covers and function bands continue to play MJ songs and never an eyelid is batted. Some of the big MJ tributes are still touring theatres as well. If you enjoy the music and can separate it from allegations (proven or otherwise) then great. If not, you have the right to feel offended, whether anyone else cares or not.

    Yep, there's a bit of neck dive but a good grippy strap takes care of the worst of it. Usual issue with an Tbird shape.

    Polar Audio have been so rubbish that Gallien Krueger are now opting to deal direct now with some main dealers instead. Obviously this takes time to set up and there are delays with manufacture as a hangover from Covid and electronic part shortages. Andertons will be your best bet as and when. Also worth mentioning that many people think of GK as being a massive company but in reality they are still a family business.

    Saw them at The Cavern in Raynes Park, SW London. Nice guy and great player. A couple of the guys in the band are also in Simply Dan (Steely Dan tribute).

Those backing vocal harmonies... That melody... Randy 'Dawg' Jackson on bass, complete with crazy hairstyle and fashion sense! The soul, passion and intensity...     Two DC's is a bit hi-fi/clinical. You could try the EMG P pickup in a soapbar (35P4 or 35P4X) in the neck position and keep the DC in the bridge or swap that out for a 35J, 35JX, 35JCS or 35JX-CS . https://www.emgpickups.com/bass.html

    Reminds me of the time I played with the KISS tribute at a biker rally the day after Dumpy's Rusty Nuts had played (& stayed over). Our dressing room was the old caravan that Dumpy had stayed in overnight.... man that thing STUNK.... sweat, leather, alcohol and the WORST tramp smell you've ever encountered.... How we didn't catch anything is beyond me! 🤣
