  1. ^^^ This....
  2. THIS ^^^^^^^ Give me the musicality, creativity, melody and structural arrangements of the bass playing of Peter Cetera (Chicago), Tiran Porter (Doobie Bros), Rutger Gunnarsson (ABBA), Joe Puerta (Ambrosia), Dee Murray (Elton John), John Deacon (Queen), Dave Hope (Kansas), Martin Tiefensee (Lake), Paul Goddard (Atlanta Rhythm Section), Del Palmer (Kate Bush), David Paton (Pilot/Alan Parsons etc) and many others of that period.... over most stuff since.
  3. Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter also wore them 'live' with the Doobie Brothers..... but then he also sat down on a stool.... lol!
  4. Van Halen (DLR era) could have made one good double album out of all their material. Too many cover versions and average songs on overly short albums.
  5. I love the sound of bagpipes (played well), particularly if the sound is floating across a valley/loch or the Edinburgh skyline.....
  6. The new 'Lake' album. The surviving original 70's members have reformed and are currently recording a new album, due for Dec release! Also, the new Journey album...... and the new Chicago album, both ready for release apparently...
  7. ....and their guitarist John McFee became a Doobie Brother!
  8. .....and their tours "World Tour".... despite not leaving North America....
  9. Sure, though I don't have anything US built in the last 10 years (in since Korg took over)....
  10. They're not.... Doesn't stop them being brilliant though.... and yes, Paul Goddard (RIP) was a monster.... and a lovely guy (from my limited correspondence with him)!
  11. Looking forward to this! Now, what shall I bring....... lol!! 😉🤣😂
  12. Atlanta Rhythm Section. They were the house band at the legendary Studio One in Doraville before writing, recording and touring their own fantastic music.
  13. I love it when it has token Scandi metal bands on..... better than hearing that horrible 'Euro-synth' sound on everything..... urghh.... It's camp nonsense but worth a watch to see who is the most ridiculous and which lady can wear the smallest/most revealing outfit.... sometimes cheap thrills are the best something like this has to offer.
  14. It's a 'bloke' with a great tone
  15. I've been given two free tickets for Bryan Adams at the Royal Albert Hall tonight playing the entire 'Cuts Like A Knife' album, plus assorted other greatest hits etc. Result
  16. Just sold my Backbeat to Chris. Great comms and prompt payment. Recommended!
  17. Probably..... and I don't blame him. Gene has been a prolific EMG user for years....
  18. ...... and again, here at 2:50 - 3:06 on 'Champagne Jam'
  19. I'll happily listen to the late, very great and hugely underrated Paul Goddard any time...... here is his solo in Another Man's Woman (6:10 - 7:45)
  20. I don't suppose it's possible to just purchase the live set anywhere? I don't need the rest of it again and I too have never been bothered about 'The Camera Eye' or 'Witch Hunt'....
  21. That's what I've already got! lol! Great minds and all that......
  22. Amazing amp! Fantastic tones, huge power and a bargain price. GLWTS!
