1.
For £3,600... if I a ) had the money and b ) knew that the auction was genuine would have very willingly paid every penny. Must be a scam though, I quite reasonably asked for the seller to send some more pics and I never even got dignified with a reply.
I bid up to just over £2000....just in case, you understand I'd willingly have paid more (if it had been genuine - which it quite obviously wasn't!) but no way I could afford it..... A huge scam... just hope the winning bidder didn't pay up!
 2. Haha!! Definitely let me know when you're down this way....
 3.
That's an awesome tale! Nearly taking a biker-gang-beating, all in the name of Kiss merchandise. You definitely earned your Kiss Army membership with that...
+1,000,000!! Consider yourself a 'General' in the 'KISS Army'!
 4.

Now THAT'S a rig!!! I love my Genz Benz Neox212T and my Spectors..... so I can only imagine how immense they must sound through this head!!! GAS attack!! I wish you lived down the road from me so I could try it out!
 5.
I am pretty sure I saw you at The Robin in Brierly Hill many years ago. Great show. I used to be a full on pinball machine, doll and all the coloured vinyl owning member of the Kiss Army. I sold the lot and bought a MIJ P. I actually got chronically ripped off on the pinball front. I bought it for £150, sold it for £250 and then instantly discovered that they were changing hands for £600. Where was the interwebz then eh? Paul.
Ah yes, the Robin! We still play the Robin 2 in Bilston.... great venue! Sounds like you knew your KISS memorabilia though! I've got loads of their collectables, coloured vinyls, pic discs, dolls etc... and I still have my pinball machine. Cost me £300 a few years back, prob worth over £1000 now....
 6. The photos ARE of the bass that Gene used.... but this seller doesn't have it. Notice he has ZERO feedback and is obviously out to scam. The ACTUAL bass sold for something like $25,000 at a US memorabilia auction a few years back to a big KISS fan in the US....
 7.
On a similar note, I was going through my old music magazines last week and came across a live review in Kerrang! from 94/95 for none other than Dressed to Kill! There was a great shot of 'Gene' leering at the camera and I think it was from a venue in London (the Forum?). I'm also pretty sure that it said Peter Criss (the real Peter Criss) played a couple of songs with the band. Does that ring any bells, Mr Cetera?
Ah yes, that was the KISS Expo at the Astoria 2 (now Mean Fiddler) with special guest Peter Criss (ex-KISS)! Our friend Dave Reynolds at Kerrang reviewed that... and gave us a great review... including mentioning how sh*t Peter was and how we looked relieved to have our own 'Peter' back on the drums! Good times
 8.
Thanks cetera - my Spectors sound absolutely fantastic through it. I get to use it in anger tonight so pics and a bit of a review tomorrow. Can't bloody wait
I imagine they will! Can't wait for the review
 9.
i see you will be at the ferry in glasgow in april. i shall see you there!!
Lovely! Look forward to it That's always a GREAT gig for us!
 10.
I guess it's tough as a KISS tribute band in the UK as they aren't at all popular over here compared to the US. To be honest, the only song of theirs that I know is that Crazy nights thing. They are one of those bands that I'm always thinking I should get their greatest hits and see what they are all about.
Aye, our attendances range from 70 people to 300 people.... enough to create some noise but not quite 'theatre' size. Personally, I'd say to give the'Greatest Hits' a miss and go straight for 'KISS Alive' & 'KISS Alive II'
 11. Ooh! Bet this is lovely... congrats on a great steal!
 12.
What a bridge! I changed the strings on mine today to put a set of Elixirs on and the saddles fell out as I was doing it I had to reset the intonation which took me a while but these 'ere bridges bain't be for the faint hearted land lubbing bassist.
Ah, you've got to lock the bridge (use the allen key on the side lock) first....
 13. Oh, John.... andI had such high hopes for you!! lol! Glad you liked it though. Someone here is on for a HUGE bargain! They just have to grab it while they can....!
 14. Cheers mate! we're back at the Woughton Centre in April 2009 so come see us again!
 15. Loving the Rickenblacker, Kramer & Ovation basses! And those 2 4x12 cabs must sound immense!!
 16. It's a lovely one.... feels very solid in your hands and has a slightly smoother/more tamed sound than some of the others due to the Aguilar pre-amp
 17.
Yes it's bling I know, and gold knobs too. Thought I'd share my shallow need for things that light up and shine:
Lovely rig - I bet it sounds MINT!! Now, where's the t*ts?
 18.
This one caught my eye this morning....... http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~S...ack~ID~9547.asp
That's a rare spec for a 'Spector'.... i.e. completely 'passive' as per Mike Kroegers wishes....
 19.
FWIW, if I purchased any bass with that expectation, I would probably be setting myself up for disappointment. In terms of playability there's probably not a lot in it between the two IMO. In terms of sound, the Spectors are probably more aggressive sounding. Whether thats a good or a bad thing probably depends on the context. Its probably best to view the bass as a tool with a certain tonal character. What you do with that tool obviously is up to you.
Completely agree.... We bassists are a fussy bunch, but when you get to a certain level of build quality/electronics etc it's all down to personal preference ultimately. Both US/Euro Spectors and Warwicks (older ones and higher end current Infinitys etc) are of a high build quality, have excellent hardware and electronics. The feel and subtle differences in tonal characteristics will be what attracts you to one or the other, or both! Sometimes I think we over analyse it all a little too much. Does it look good? Yep, beautiful! Does it sound good? F*ck yeah! Does it balance well, feel comfortable and bring out the best in my playing! Damn right!
 20.
Cetera, are the body wings of these half maple, half alder in equal layers or are the maple bits thinner veneers? They look like half and half.
I believe they are half and half.... with a slice of walnut through the middle...
 21.
Time may well tell but I think it's less of a transition for me as I've so much experience with the early Warwick Streamers and contrary to popular belief the Spector doesn't mop the floor with the SSI they are just... different, yet similar in many ways!
I'd only say they mop the floor with the newer SS1..... not the original ones...
