  1. really suprised no one has said ampeg yet! again, depends on your version of growl, but i class my 115 or their 810s as having growl!
  2. I've had 2 sets that haven't made it past 4 gigs - hence not gone with any more! But they sound awesome and will make them to exact specs down to core size and shape to end colours! If I could change them every couple of gigs, I'd more than happily use them! Back to the bass - you can pop in and try if you've never tried one , it's awesome, just not what I need!
  3. cheers thom - did you know newtone is about half a mile from my house? how you getting on with them? i've only had good customer support but bad strings!

  5. I have a crown xls602 paired with a sansamp Rpm, but the plan is to get a RBI fir the other channel, definitely isn't light though. The ampeg svt 3 pro worked very well with it if you just need one channel, then there's always a spare pre amp!
  6. not really a jazz kinda guy bud, but thankyou!
  7. still up for sale! shoot me an offer - may just be crazy enough!
  8. stunning! can you have GAS for a course? or would that be CAS! lol
  9. bump! plus why did this not come up when i did a search?
  10. Somewhere between entwistle and Trujillo, kind of bass meets guitar, keep the low as low and fat as possible, with some serious drive on the highs
  11. Now withdrawn hey there, as stated this is an overwater progress 3 deluxe i have the pics for you and i'm after £1200 19mm string spacing at bridge, 36" scale (which is suprisingly easy to get used to) and provides a lovely tight low B, jack and xlr outs comes with case and schaller strap locks let me know any other info you may want! i'm based in derbyshire, about 10 mins from M1 J26 would rather not post, but can at buyers expense. i've met a few of you off here, and i assume i'm good to do trades and sales - no negative feedback so far! reason for sale? sounds awesome and easy to play but not the right image and my main bass is difficult to switch to and from due to resting my thumb on the pickup only damage i can see is bridge (pictured) and some very light buckle rash on the back, to the point i couldnt photograph it! negligible really! enjoy! 16. i tried one in a shop in notts - sorry matey, but it was awesome! sounds unbelieveable for the price, i like the look, but having never played another thunderbird, i dont know if the neck dive was massive or not! compared to more normal shaped basses the neck dive is what stopped me from buying it, i know there are mods you can do, but i cant see that bringing it to a point where it would be useable for me! quite a wide nut width for 5 strings i usually play, but very comfortable none the less, tension on the b aint great, but dealable, and i have to agree its a fast neck! i believe you can pick them up for about £350 - absolute fookin bargain, if you can deal with the shape! apologies to the OP - hows your gas? lol
  17. change of plan! i may be able to attend, that days gig was cancelled! if i can make it, is there much parking, easy load in? how much stuff to bring? do we have to pay on the door or is it just beer money? cheers all! btw look at my sig to see if theres anything in particular needs bringing along, if not i'll just bring my gigging rig! theres a crown xls602 and spector legend 5 custom to add to that too!
  18. i played a gig where there was 4 bands on, i was the only one that didnt use the rb9 - but i can honestly say it sounded nice for the others - there was a blues band, a strokes esque band and an all out metal band - hows that for variety! pretty small too compared to the shallow rack system i was using!
  19. looks more like an aerodyne! i do like it when they can be bothered to paint the headstock body colour too! have a bump
  20. That looks stunning matey - sg's have to be red, but this makes a good exception!
