1. i have a line 6 g90 - the rack one and in 6 months of using it on all stage sizes, its never EVER dropped out yet! NO loss in signal, in fact it can sound better than a lead! our guitar player uses the g50 (pedal version), in fact lots of guitards we know use them, and no one has ever lost signal or moaned about tone yet
2. I could make you one - exactly to your spec! Would set you back around £600 for one, but about £70 for each one after that! And that's before the hours of labour that go into it! Hence why I wouldn't personally pay that amount! With current composite costings on time you'd be looking at £1200 for the first one and £300 each one after that! This is assuming you have a neck to take a mould off! If not, add another £500! I've never made a composite neck before but as a composite laminator, that is your costings through a normal high end pre preg firm!
3. Well, I made the mistake of playing it through the nearly finished rig, and it's superb! Decided not to sell, I'll have to think of some other way to finish the rig, should I put a thread up for one of my kidneys - slight wear and tear, but only slightly discoloured! Lol Cheers ladies and gents for looking and/or offers
4. I took the tone control out of my punisher, not much difference between that and tone full on - maybe a bit brighter, but not much!
5. I've just decided to keep mine, it was up for sale, but it's just too good! Whoever gets this will be very happy! Bump
6. sorry to help the tangent - but i had a top of the line warwick infinity nt5 - my spector legend blows the tits off it except for the tone - so much easier to play, and thats the only warwick i've ever liked! back to topic, hopefully be swapping my pickups soon, so i'll let you know about how it affects it - may just disconnect the eq altogether for starters and see what i think!

8. I'm thinking about much the same bud, except with a 40p. I just have a volume connected up to my emg in my punisher - no preamp, nor even a tone, just sounds right for the one sound I need live!
9. Take what you like the sound of, open mic nights are a bit of Fun and I always have most fun with my familiar tone, you sound well practiced enough, so just enjoy it, you'll be on stage 15 mins tops with 3 songs, that's not enough time to worry AND enjoy it! Let us know how it goes, and some on here will be eager to hear your advice as a lot will be in the same mind set!
10. it looks incredible dude - love the black (glue??) on the sanded body edges - looks massively classy!
11. nice one, but the first should really happen anyway - and its really nice to see a company standing by its product without giving you grief! and congrats on the second!
12. ok getting close to desperate now - new years gigs and recording with a half finished rig!! this is a bump for an awesome bass ladies and gents
13. only a couple of days to seal the deal bump!
14. Ha ha, I just sent you the message about the transformer! Very good price for that! You interested in trades on here? Lol
15.
You can fiddle about as much as you want with gear and EQ or whatever, but there are always going to be certain characteristics to the tone that you produce on an instrument. Listen to Les Claypool play a Rickenbacker-he sounds just like Les Claypool. Listen to Marcus Miller's bass sound before he had the Bartolini preamp fitted in his Fender. His sound wasn't quite as refined as it later became, but his core tone was there and is recognisable as being Marcus.
i think the work refine is about right! that endless quest for tone only really gets started when you realise that you need to start with what you've got! i must admit that i lust after other peoples gear, and do my research into what might work for me! maybe this is why these kind of forums are here - cause there is such a wealth of knowledge out there, but not the places to go and try the gear yourself! it was stated earlier that if youre happy with on stage tone then its a better gig for you! i firmly agree with this, and the band know my tone, and know when i'll be playing my best! that said gear does sound different with different folk - our guitarist for example utters "oh sh*t" if we roll up to a venue and its trace elliot on there - but a band we play with has a tone to die for with trace gear! another point (sorry for rambling) but tone can be described i''ve found - told the producer what i wanted from my tone, but also what it needed to sound like in the full band mix, and he nailed it! absolutely what the band was expecting and i'm happy as a pig in sh*t with my tone - now the annoying bit is creating that live! lol it may just be a tolerance thing, but i can get "pretty close" with ANY gear - pa cabs or guitar gear so it must be an eq and style thing in my eyes - i know my place, as it were, in the bands eq as a whole! - a bit like the tonal version of putting a sexy little fill in the right place to make peoples ears prick up! sorry for rambling! lol

Graphic eq

thanks very much!
17. i've always had gator, and never had problems with any of them - the main one did 10 years and does the job just as well as when i bought it! the thing i'm considering for the next one is purely aesthetics - the normal rack stuff aint as wide as a cab - so looking at the lined ones that are!

Graphic eq

Hi there, I have a sansamp rpm but want more control over the low end, if I stick a rack mount eq strip through the effects loop will this allow me to do this, or am I looking at a separate pre amp to control the lows? Initially looking at a bi amp rig but the rpm bass control is set at 80hz. This was going to be my low end, but i've decided I love it as my distorted high sound! Cheers bass chatters! Btw I'm looking for an almost electronic low end!
19. I have a line 6 g90, and it's superb!! Had an akg WMs 400, pretty good too But no issues at all with the g90, and I like a REALLY deep tone!
20. run up till christmas - £1000 thats right - £1000 for a bass thats £2700 new! back up to £1200 after chrimbo! will part swap for an ampeg bsp too!
21. no no, i love it! and the overdrive sounds just like the sansamp rpm with active emgs (plus chorus) not i just need to get the hooningly bassy lows and i'll be a happy bunny! ps how do you get your sound really fookin bassy?? (lookin for a single rack unit! lol)
