  1. The ones I've played have definitely been wider but I've found them thicker and rounder too in my own experience. Definitely more of a handful. Just to clarify, I am talking about Fender necks...
  2. Had a go on one of these today at A-Strings in Treforest. Loved it Apparently lead-time for new stock (i.e. what's not currently in circulation in the shops) is something ridiculous like August 2024.
  3. For sale is a Pedaltrain Classic Jr with Pedaltrain for case. It also has the Pedaltrain True Fit mounting kit fitted to it which will be included plus some spare Velcro. Yours for £75 inc. postage
  4. There's a contact/WhatsApp button on the mobile version of the Bass Bros website if you don't want to use the phone and whenever I've contact Will via it he's responded swiftly.
  5. Steve was kind enough to respond to my Wanted ad for a Boss SY-1. The pedal is excellent and Steve offered me a great deal for it and even posted it next day delivery before I sent payment! A top chap who represents all the best parts of Basschat. Highly recommended.
  6. For sale is a Boss AB-2 2-way selector switch in excellent condition (the boxed one is now sold). These are really useful selector pedals that allows various different configurations (switching inputs and outputs). Ideal of you want to run two basses in to an amp or a bass in to two amps etc. Overview from Boss: The BOSS AB-2 is a 2-way selector that makes changing inputs or outputs easy. One stomp is all it takes to instantly switch between two guitars or effects setups, change amplifiers or switch between an amp and tuner. Rock-solid BOSS construction ensures the AB-2 will stand the test of time. I'm looking for £32 posted.
  7. My recently acquired VM5 from Will at Bass Bros, weighing in at under 8 1/2lbs. I have a run of gigs and a bit of recording where a 5'er is needed so I took the plunge. I love SR5's but this is easily the best 5 String I've had the pleasure of playing. I'm up to three Sandbergs now and am really so pleased with them.

  9. I was sceptical too but as it pulls the strings straight through the holes on the top unit it is rock solid.
  10. It's held on by the tension of the strings, nothing else. On the Jack (from memory) you could still access the truss rod while it was in place as the unit literally just sits on top of where the strings feed through the holes, not the hole head piece. They do work a treat. I'm no artist (well, certainly no Rolf Harris) and if you can work out from my cruddy drawing, they sort of fit like this.
  11. It will. I had one on each on my Hohner Jacks and it allowed me to use my favourite nickel strings rather than double ball steels

  13. There was a pub in the early-mid 2000's in Kingston where we often used to play after the strippers had finished on a Sunday lunchtime. It used to remind me of Jabba The Hutt's Palace but with stickier floors. Not the best gigs but we used to get lunch for free and it was a strangely subdued (dare I say spent) audience.
  14. Sold some strings to Chris in what was a totally hassle-free pleasant deal. Highly recommended
  15. Tuner, compressor, overdrive, octaver and chorus for me. I don't use them all the time for every song but they're there if I want to use them and add some variety to my sound.
  16. Sadly this sums it up for me, likewise in selling to the EU.
  17. I'm a big Sandberg fan and that's especially lovely even by their high standards
  18. Reminds me of a clue from 321.
  19. The shell pink was a loan and unfortunately I didn't have enough dirt on the owner to get to keep it!
  20. Well the shell pink Sandberg Lionel didn't end up in my possession so I picked this up instead. It looks like it's been reliced by Scooby Doo wearing a blindfold but it plays beautifully, sounds fab (passive electronics) and weighs under 7.5lbs. Love it
  21. Grabby- that just about sums up my experience too but I couldn't think of the best way to describe it.
