He plays upright sometimes hence a hat is compulsory, it's actually an offence to not wear one.
I've not watched the recent series but they are a great band, all of them.
And acoustic guitar amp, electric amps, keyboard amp, vocals, backing vocals, horn section, percussion, mandolin etc etc etc....
They're not something you'd have for the dog and gun.
I think EV do a professional range that I've used a few times but there are others, D&B monitors cost around £6k each , you'll need a tasty rig to get close to those!
Like most setups is more about how it's used imo, if the whole band are using wedges up front then you aren't trying to make your wedges fight the guitarist's Marshall stack pointing at your ear holes!
I've heard plenty of stage monitors that can out perform a typical bass rig, it's not that they aren't out there it's knowing if there is going to be one at your gig or not.
Nothing if you use the built in router, as the others said use a separate one, I use an old one that used to be our house one, I found it in a drawer just before ordering a brand new one!
I've just been reading an article and although there was details about mics for guitar cab and acoustic instruments half way up his mic stand there was nothing about micing the bass cabs, they don't wear in ears as the stage volume is kept at around 90db upto 105db for rocking stuff. I suspect any bass cabs you are looking at you can only hear with your eyes, the much higher quality monitor wedges in front of him is what he's listening to via whatever high end processing is going on at the desk.
It's funny that we've got a thread about someone not buying an item unless the seller takes responsibility for the item door to door yet we've got a million threads ranting about poor courier service, items lost, broken, stolen, late, compulsory insurance that doesn't cover musical instruments.........
Isn't that how life works? As long as no one is being forced to arrange a courier a take all the risk then that's how it is, if you've any concerns jump in the car, bus, taxi, aeroplane or whatever and go and collect it.
If it's an item available elsewhere including postage then just buy that one even if it costs more.
I've sold things on that basis, how I see it is this, the options are A-collect or meet up. Or B-buyer takes the risk.
As long as the seller isn't ONLY offering shipping at buyers risk then it depends how much you want it.
Almost every time I list an item as strictly collection /meet up only I get lots of offers of purchase based on them taking care of the shipping and sometimes actually sending the packaging materials too.
If no one wants to buy it then so be it, I'll hang on to it.
