I've never heard of three weeks in plaster, could it be that it's a small fracture and they want to let it fuse but not cast it for so long that causes more ceasing of the joint than needed?

Does he play a lot of lead stuff?

Collecting Basses/Guitars as an investment
stingrayPete1977 replied to StuarDaddy's topic in General Discussion
It's very hard to judge Imo, the comparison with old cars is the closest we've got to compare with in cultural and time scale, the same thing was said thirty years ago about really old stuff 'veteran' as it's now called, people thought once no one had living memory of those cars the value would drop quickly over a ten to twenty year period, who thought the guy with the Sierra with a body kit and massive turbo during the 90s would be into cars from the Edwardian period within a couple of decades? But it happened, prices have gone mental. Look at antiques that don't do anything useful like paintings or items rarely used like ink Wells and hat pins, plenty of people still collect them just to have on show, which for many 70's Fenders is about all they are good for anyway, lol. -

Two of the very best 112 cabs available today?

Them Greenboy cabs sound epic and can go as loud as feck, we had some at the double bass bash, sheesh! -
music man bongo 6, is it worth it?

I went to the music man factory last year, I think as I was many people would be surprised how small the factory is, OK they aren't built by one person in a shed but they aren't spitting them out like the Cort factory. -

Now I'm very Liberal but honestly the idea of you three in one band is a step too far, not because of the trans thing, I just don't fancy a band with three bass players! -

I'd imagine they cost even more than £1700 now as no one appears to be taking any notice of the date! Lol -
I've seen it live on stage twice and both amateur productions were better than the Cruise version!

Two lumps of wood, a pickup, bbot and some tuners, just like like any other P bass to me.

What's wrong with poplar?

Yep up the back for me too, I'm going to get a dual lead made for instrument and in ears. Getting the fit right will transform the sound, I've never had such a good bass sound as I do from the KZs once I'd got them in snug. Are you getting them right in there? Mouth open and pull your ear backwards whilst using your pointing finger to push the ear piece home?

I don't think these desks are suitable for knob twiddlers tbh, once set up properly you shouldn't need the mixer controls anywhere near the singer in the same way you wouldn't have a mixing desk in stage at the front.

Michael Jackson covers- Yes or No?
stingrayPete1977 replied to redbandit599's topic in General Discussion
My wife has been firm on him not being up to monkey business to the point debates have become heated over it, she watched the first half and was actually crying because she felt she knew they were telling the truth, sad really. -

How quiet can they be? (500+ watt amps)
stingrayPete1977 replied to JvJazz83's topic in Amps and Cabs
It's not so much the rating of the cab, it might not break the cab but it won't sound great near breaking point. A more efficient cab could be rated at the same wattage but sound nicer and louder even when using a smaller amp. Adding another gk cab wouldn't be a bad idea if one crops up, the streamliner into a pair of those will sound great on a gig and just one for home practice. Keep searching -

stingrayPete1977 replied to JvJazz83's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've found getting low volume is more about the speaker cab than the amp, if I run my small amp through my 2x12 cab it's hard to get the volume under control for a quiet jam whereas I can put my 900watt head into my 1x10 and practice upstairs whilst the Mrs watches television in the room below without complaining. The GK cab will probably stop you from getting any actual benefit from the bigger wattage head though. A Genz Benz Streamliner head sounds ideal if you can find one, paired later with a pair of nice 1x12s will give you a great modular rig, the GK head and one cab for home practice, genz head and one cab for louder practice/rehearsals etc, genz head and both cabs for proper gigs with the GK head as a spare 😁
