  1. How does that work then, does one lefty = two right handed basses?
  2. Just out of curiosity, how much would your other half be willing to let it go for?
  3. I remember when you bought this strap. I liked it so much I got an identical one for my Jack Casady. Even though my bass is black.
  4. Obviously you've never had to teach my father-in-law how to use a label printer. Or Sky remote.
  5. T ~Dog Customs are back in business. Toby is the grandson of John Diggins and does most of the Jaydee work. He did a sparkle refinish for me and it's superb.
  6. No we're not. Oh, hang on...
  7. I reckon if the title of this thread had been something like "question about serial numbers" it would have got waaay fewer views than calling it "Please ignore".
  8. Be warned it's a gateway bass. I bought a lovely black one for £400 and now I'm looking at Gibson EB-2s.
  9. Previously owned by a Womble, likely to be bought by a Muppet.
  10. This is my '75P, I bought it about 25 years ago and had it refinished (it had been hand-painted in orange peely red) in Daphne blue. At least that's the colour I asked for... I'm still not convinced, but I love it anyway.
  11. Might be worth more if someone could prove it was a bass John Entwhistle HADN'T owned at some point.
  12. Not to be "that guy", but I doubt Stevie Wonder has ever seen a voice coach.
  13. Two or three years ago I took my (then) 14 year old daughter with me to BD to try out, and eventually buy, a 1974 Jazz. Ended up having a very pleasant chat with Mark, well more of a listen really but it was fine. He complimented my daughter on her playing… but said nothing about mine.
  14. I got my first bass from Andertons in 1987, from the tiny shop they had before they moved to their current premises. I remember the guy who used to look after bass stuff there at the time was the spitting image of Luke Skywalker. He was a lovely chap. Name was Mark somebody I think.
  15. Saw Muse supported by the amazing Nova Twins a couple of weeks ago, will definitely go and see them again. Next month it’s Ben Folds, Extreme / Living Colour, The Darkness in Amsterdam (18th birthday present for daughter) and The Darkness again in Manchester.

    Poorly Mutron III

I was pottering about with my Mutron III the other day and I think it's developed a fault. The range of effect seemed really limited, it's like most of the ducks have escaped so it's no longer very quacky. Ages ago I had this problem with another Mutron, and took it to Martin Owen in Manchester, who worked a minor miracle by repairing the optocoupler. I had a look for his website the other day and it doesn't seem to be active any more, does anyone know if he's still in business? If not any recommendations for another mild mannered electronics genius who may or may not live with his mum?
  17. What if a) you’ve already ordered the book or b) want go with your partner but you don’t both need the book?
  18. If you go directly to the vendor’s website, it’s £2795 rather than £3045, which makes it slightly more palatable, but still on the pricey side I’d say.
  19. I’m a little disappointed as I thought this thread was about Scooby Doo’s reaction upon seeing a ghost.
  20. This one was definitely faulty. We plugged it in after trying the Jazz and it was inaudible.
  21. Went to PMT Manchester yesterday with my daughter to try out a couple of basses. A very nice daphne blue Vintera 60s jazz (which for some reason is now about £300 more expensive on the website than when we were there yesterday), and then we were going to try the seafoam green 50's Vintera P, but it didn't work! Really low output, duff pickup or something. Looked really lovely, though.
